There, All Better (Brand Walsh X FemReader)
Tumblr media
Warnings: Swearing, but if you've watched the movie I doubt you're surprised
A/N the lack of Goonies fanfic is absolutely appalling
Amazing how life can get turned on it's head so suddenly, isn't it? One moment life is routine and mundane, and next thing you know, your life is falling apart.
This was the unfortunate reality for Y/N L/N, and by tomorrow her family would be leaving the home she'd spent her entire life in, so that rich douche Troy Perkin's father could bulldoze where she'd spent her formative years, the Goon Docks.
Unfortunately there was nothing to be done. Both her father and Mr. Walsh had both done everything they could to convince Mr. Perkins to change his mind, but the old leather shoe had decided that countless people's lives and memories were unimportant when compared with his personal agenda. And Troy Perkin loved to rub her face in the fact that she had to leave.
The same Troy Perkin dating her best friend, Andi. And loathing wasn't a strong enough word to describe the mutual feelings between her and her friend's boyfriend.
Nonetheless, here she was in the back of Troy's convertible next to Steph, Andi riding in the front passenger seat while Troy kept angling his rearview mirror to look down Andi's shirt.
"You disgusting pervert." She snapped, reaching across Steph to cuff the back of the jock's head. "Stop thinking with your crotch and watch the road before we crash and die."
"Jeez, Andi tell the buzzkill in the back to chill. You don't mind, do ya babe." Troy grunted, taking another peek down her shirt.
"Hey, who's that?" Steph interrupted, pointing down the road where someone was riding a comically small pink bike.
"Is that-?" Andi started, when Troy suddenly slowed down next to the figure.
"Brand?" Y/N leaned forward from the back seat, peaking around.
"Oh uh, hey Y/N." Brand stuttered, leaning his hand up on the car.
Brand and Y/N had known eachother a long time, grown up together in fact. Their fathers had worked together at the museum, quickly becoming close friends. One thing lead to another and next thing you know their families were never apart.
Whether it was barbeques, meeting to swim at the beach, or Y/N babysitting Mikey, they were always together, and over time both Brand and the girl had feelings for eachother. That being said, neither of them were going to do anything about it, terrified of ruining their lifelong friendship if the other person didn't feel the same.
Unbeknownst to them, their mothers had been convinced they were going to get married since they were both five, hopefully making the girl into Y/N Walsh.
But in the meantime, Y/N never expected to see Brand in sweats on some small child's bright pink bike, and Brand had never expected to see her sat in Troy's car, but here they were.
"Brand, can we give you a ride somewhere?" Y/N asked, Troy shooting her a scathing look while Steph and Andi wiggled their eyebrows at her.
"Uh, no." Brand panted. "Thanks anyway though."
Troy turned, looking at Y/N with a twisted grin, before starting the car again. "Yeah Walsh, let us give you a little ride."
Troy then grabbed onto Brand's hand on the car, before making the car move. "Hold on, here we go!"
"Hey!" Andi and Y/N shouted in unison, as Steph started smacking Troy's arm.
"Troy stop!" Y/N yelled, hitting Troy repeatedly as he continued to pick up speed. "Let him go!"
"Stop!" The other girls shouted, trying to help.
"Hey let go of my hand Troy!" Brand yelled, looking between Troy and the road as the bike started going faster than it was built to.
"Hold on!" The jock cackled, as Y/N continued to smack the back of his head.
"Let go!"
Suddenly there was an odd screeching noise, and turning around Y/N saw the training wheels that had previously been attached to the bike, laying in the middle of the road.
"Troy stop, you're gonna kill him!" She screamed.
"Let go of my hand!" Brand repeated, and this time Troy listened, releasing his hand to put them both on the steering wheel.
But it didn't matter, they had already been going to fast and despite Troy not holding him to the car anymore, Brand was going so fast that he kept up with them as they sped down the road. Until the curb on the side of a massive hill, the drop from the road being so steep and covered in rocks and trees injury was inevitable if you fell.
And Brand was speeding straight towards it with no brakes.
Steph and Y/N reached for him, but it was to late.
"Brand!" Y/N screeched as he was launched through the air.
"So long, sucker!" Troy shouted, continuing to speed down the road until he was smacked across the back of the head with a bag.
"PULL OVER."
"Holy shit, what's wrong with you?" He groaned, clutching the back of his head as he stopped the car.
"You're such an asshole!" Y/N yelled, jumping out of the car with her backpack. "If he's dead I'm calling the cops! Steph, Andi, I'll see you at school." She stormed off, running in the direction they had just come from.
"Yeah whatever." Troy spat, flooring it before either of Y/N's friends could do anything.
She ran back to the curve, finding the bike all mangled down the hill, and Brand having almost made his way back to the top, looking all dirty and torn up.
"Oh my gosh." She jogged down to where he was, cupping his face in her hands. "Are you hurt? Well, duh obviously, don't answer that."
He just stood there and blinked at her before she was pulling him by the wrist back to the top of the hill where she'd left her bag.
"Sit down, sit down." She pushed him to sit on the ground, recieving no resistance. Y/N knelt on the ground in front of him, digging through her bag for her makeshift first aid kit.
He watched her for a moment, feeling kind of ridiculous in his workout headband, but more focused on the pain in his face and the pretty girl in front of him.
Pulling things out of her bag she wiped at his face with a tissue before putting what he assumed was some antibiotic all over his wounds. She glanced down at her bag, then smiled at him sheepishly whilst raising her hand to show him a bright yellow bandaid with a smiley face on it.
"It's the only type I have."
"That's fine," he grins. "I'll take whatever you've got."
She returns his smile and puts a few bandaids on his face, neck and arms, leaning down to kiss the one on his forehead when she was done.
"There." She smiled. "All better."
Suddenly they were kids again, eight to be precise, riding their bikes in the middle of summer, when Y/N ended up face planting into the gravel. Brand, panicking, started digging through her backpack looking for bandaids (because even at eight her mother insisted she carry some).
Once he found some he placed them on her forehead, but was disheartened when he looked down and saw her eyes full of tears.
"My mama always kisses them better, but she's not here so what do I do?"
Brand looked around, before his eight year old brain decided that the most logical course of action was to kiss them better for her.
So leaning down, he left a big sloppy kiss in the middle of her forehead, before stepping back and smiling, proud of himself.
"There, all better."

PROLOGUE | OUT OF TOWNER Wednesday June 30th 1993, Astoria Oregon
The thrill was what got to her. The absolute freeing and exciting feeling of running off. The whole world was in her hands and she could do anything. Who knew what would happen next. Just the mystery and on edge her future seemed was enough to keep her foot on the gas and to continue driving with no map in her hands. Each road she passed was a split decision. A small grin tickled at the corner of her lips but didn't fully form because the thrill in her stomach was enough to make her sick and happy at the same time.
She had been driving for a while now. At least eight hours before she had loaded her car with anything she could think of bringing along. She was actually surprised the small white Volkswagen Bug could hold all the junk she had thrown into it. The sky was grey and drizzling raindrops all over the earth. As Estella admired the beauty of Mother Nature her stomach grumbled. She hadn't had the time to eat before her split second decision of leaving. Passing a small town sign she smiled knowing this was promising of a restaurant nearby. The town hit you all at once, lots of houses, and a whole bunch of different colors. Estella could see the small port down the end of the road and it somehow brought the little old town together.
As she got closer to the port she saw a sign for a little diner and let out a sigh of relief. Without hesitation she pulled into a parking space and grabbed her wallet. The inside was small and very old school but it gave off a warm welcoming feeling. There wasn't a lot of people inside, just two young boys sitting at the bar stools and an older gentleman off to himself in a booth. Estella took a seat on the opposite side of the bar from the boys and started to look at the menu as a blonde girl emerged wearing a pink waitress uniform.
"Can I get you anything?" she asked with a small smile. She had warm brown eyes and she stared into Estella's hazel ones with kindness.
"Um, I'll just have some French toast and bacon on the side. Oh and a glass of orange juice" the girl smiled as she wrote down the order and walked it back to the window. She gently clipped it to the carousel and spun it around so the cooks could get it. She watched as she moved to wipe the counter in front of the two boys and fall into conversation with them. Before she knew it the girl had returned and started wiping down the counter in front of her. Estella also couldn't help but notice the boys staring at her from across the bar.
"Is there something on my face? Those boys you were talking to over there are staring at me" she leaned and whispered to the blonde so they wouldn't hear. The blonde chuckled slightly and shook her head.
"No we just aren't used to out of towner's around here. Where you from?" she asked and Estella leaned back, thankful she wasn't losing her mind.
"Redding California" the blonde girls eyes widened. Rarely did they get the California sunshine type around the area. That was almost a nine hour drive too.
"So what's got you all the way out here?" the blonde asked as she grabbed the girls glass of orange juice and set it down.
"It would help if I knew where here was?" Estella told her and the blonde chuckled as it made sense how the girl had ended up in their small town.
"Well you're in the goon docks of Astoria Oregon of course" Estella furrowed her eyebrows as she recognized the name. Why did she recognize that name?
"Isn't this the small town that found that pirate treasure or something a few years back?" Estella finally questioned as the blonde grabbed her plate of quickly made food and set it in front of her.
"You're right, that story made our little town famous" she told her and Estella nodded as she thought of such a tale. She only remembered it because of how interesting and exciting it was when news broke out about the lost treasure. That wasn't the kind of thing that happened every day.
"Do you know the full story?" Estella asked and the blonde turned to the two boys sitting at the bar, sharing a look that Estella didn't quite understand.
"Yeah, back in 85 some kids called the Goonies found a map to One Eyed Willie's ship right off the coast through some hidden tunnels. The treasure they found saved half the town from being turned into a golf course. Put our little town on the map" Estella found a sense of comfort in the story and smiled.
"That's quite a story. No wonder your little town has a charm to it" and the blonde smiled at the unusual response from the girl which caused her to hold her hand out.
"I'm Stef, it's nice to meet you" she said and Estella quickly smiled and wiped her hands off with her napkin before placing it in hers.
"I'm Estella, it's nice to meet you too" the girls smiled at each other as they shook hands. Before either girl could speak they were cut off by a bellowing voice from a woman.
"Stef, who said you could take a break?" the two girls turned to face the plump woman as she descended the spiral staircase in the corner.
"Oh Ginny, there is no one here" Stef talked back as if she was still a child. The woman named Ginny found her way behind the counter wearing a uniform identical to Stef's.
"Oh really?" she said as she gestured to the two boys, Estella, and the gentleman just getting up to leave.
"Okay but none of them needed assistance at the moment" Ginny rolled her eyes and started to work amongst the counter.
"Clarke and Lawerence I swear you've been here all day. Time to get out, you finished eating an hour ago" she scolded the two boys across the counter from Estella.
"Aww Ginny we got nothing better to do than be here with you" the skinnier one said and she rolled her eyes at him.
"Yeah and I still want a milkshake" the other said and Ginny sighed.
"I swear you two come in here and cause trouble everyday, could I get a strawberry milkshake?" Ginny yelled to the back kitchen as Stef turned back to Estella.
"So you planning on staying and visiting for a bit?" she asked and Estella thought for a moment.
"Well I wasn't really planning on going anywhere so why not? I just needed someplace to get away" Estella answered and Stef smiled, excited at the idea of  anew face around here.
"Don't we all" Ginny piped up as she handed the milkshake to Lawerence and the girls laughed.
"Thanks Aunt Ginn" he replied as he immediately started sucking it down.
"Your welcome" she said just as the two boys began to stand.
"We're heading out but before we leave, I'm Mouth and this is Chunk, only the older folks round here call us by our real names" Clarke held a hand out to Estella and she smiled and accepted his handshake.
"I'm not old young man" Ginny scolded as she pointed at him and he laughed, the pair starting to walk away.
"Alright we best be going, see ya later babe" Mouth said as he leaned over and gave Stef a small kiss. Estella was a bit surprised but brushed it off quickly. As he pulled away he gave a small pat to Estella's shoulder and Chunk gave her a wave as they both exited the diner.
"If you plan on staying I might have to be careful. A pretty girl like you could send him running away" Stef said once they were gone and Estella went to respond and assure her of no trouble before Ginny spoke up.
"Oh please you've had that boy wrapped around your finger since you found that damn pirate treasure" and Stef looked to see the immediate shock that painted the new girls features. Estella looked at Stef and she gave a small chuckle.
"Surprise" she said and the two girls fell into joined laughter.
"That's so cool. So you found the treasure?" Estella asked and Stef shrugged and looked at Ginny.
"Not really, I was just along for the journey. There was one boy we wouldn't of done it without" she told her and Estella tilted her head, confused at the modesty that came from telling a story like that.
"Who was the boy?" Estella asked even though she couldn't possibly know who he was.
"Mikey Walsh"

You were a business major at a prestigious college, you worked your butt off trying to get as many grants as possible. Even then, you still needed to seek out loans to help you in your class payments. Luckily you knew that if you wanted to take this path you needed to sacrifice a lot to the grind. A loud laughter broke you out of your thoughts, who the fuck is making so much noise in the library? You look over and see him, the ringleader surrounded by all his goonies, making you grimace. Derek, one of the top nepo babies at the college; his parents being owners of big trading companies. Rumors say that last week he couldn’t decide on either to get a Ferrari or a Lamborghini so he got both.
Laughter rang through the library again, why were they doing this here? There are literal private rooms they could rent if they really wanted a hang out place. Since you were a commuting student you didn’t have a place like a dorm to study in between classes that’s why you had to use the library. You couldn’t sit back and not say anything anymore so you walked up to the small group. “Hey, I’m sorry to be asking this,” why should you be the one that’s sorry you thought, but whatever, “I’m just trying to study and you guys are being just a little loud.” You look at each of their faces finally landing on Derek last looking at him in the eyes. His eyes widen and a cheeky smile spreads on his features again, “sure, if I can have your number.” You laugh slightly because you thought he was joking but he doesn’t laugh along with you so you gulp and take out your phone. After the exchange he leads his friends out of the library with him.
The next day after your classes you were in the library studying again. You noticed that someone sat down beside you and came face to face with Derek. “Hi,” he says with a smirk, “what are you doing?” You looked at him, confused, “I’m studying.” “Is it fun?” You scoff, “no, I wouldn’t say it’s much fun. But I can’t let my GPA drop so I gotta do it.” Your stomach growls, loud enough to be heard making you blush. Derek laughs at you, “come on, a bookworm still needs to eat right?” You were confused but packed up your things and followed him out to the parking lot where he pressed his keys and the lights to a Bentley lit up. What about the Ferrari or Lamborghini you heard about? Like reading your mind he said, “I like Bentley for everyday use.” He opened the passenger door for you as you sheepishly went in. The drive was surprisingly pleasant, the weather was cool and he had the windows down with the radio playing the popular songs, singing along to them making you laugh and sing along too. Your anxiety was raised again when you two arrived at what seems to be a restaurant with valet parking.
“Why are we here?” You ask while nipping at your fingers. He looked at you confused, “for dinner of course.” “I, uh, can’t afford something like this,” you said with a blush. His confusion turns into a chuckle, “dude what? My treat of course, come on.” He led you in and the host brought you two to a private room. You glance at the menu but don’t see any of the price tags, only stuff like aged wagyu. He looks at how you squirm and smiles, your range of emotions have entertained him since yesterday when you first looked at him. You were so different from him, constantly on the move, taking everything so seriously. What did it look like when you came undone? He was determined to find out.
He orders for the both of you and makes small talk to learn more about you, each word captivates him and makes him realize how oddly charismatic you were. (He’s already in delulu land) Each back and forth feels so genuine and like a breath of fresh air to him and the best part is that you would look at him when talking to him. When the food arrives you light up after each bite, never did your broke ass think you’d even taste food like this. And don’t forget the wine, you might have gone a little too far with it. He helped you back to his car and started driving, you had the window down and your head stuck slightly out and in the zone to notice that you never asked him where he was going.
He was bringing you to his place, leading you inside to his room, you crawled into his bed giggling. He gets in bed and hovers over your intoxicated form. “Hey, this isn’t my bed,” you slur slightly. “You’re cute,” he says. You giggle some more and boop his nose with your finger. He leans in and kisses you, you sigh as you wrap your arms around him and return the kiss. His hands start to roam and grope your body, with the help of the alcohol your skin feels extra sensitive making you whimper. “You like that?” He asks as he breaks the kiss to have a taste of your neck, licking and sucking with sloppy wet sounds echoing through the room making you moan out his name. “We’re just getting started darling.” He reaches down to your entrance, “look at you, you’re so excited to take me.” He slowly works one finger, then two into your entrance, the slow rhythm gets you worked up and you beg for more. Derek sighs dreamily, this is different when other people ask him for things. He wants to give you the world if you let him. He slips his fingers out of you and you whine more. “Don’t worry, you’ll be filled soon,” he slides his pants down and his girth springs up making your mouth water. You’re grinding against his shaft and it sends a shiver down his spine. He holds your hips in place so he can line himself up to your opening and slowly pushes in. You gasp as he enters, you feel so full and he did everything not to just ram it into you. You both fell into a rhythm, the sounds of skin slapping, whimpers and moans resounded through the room. You returned the favor and sucked on his neck and teased his nipples which got him worked up and he took your legs and pounded you in a mating press, the amount of pressure was dizzying and you found yourself being drowned in pleasure about to release. Your toes curl as you orgasm and he follows sooner after. You pass out and he looks at your sleeping form with his fluids leaking out of you. As much as he wants to keep you marked he gets a towel and wipes you and himself down before snuggling next to you.
Has he known peace like this before? His eyelids grew heavy as he listened to your steady breathing beside him. He was already convinced that you were the one meant for him, his one and only. He’ll take care of you from now on and he’ll do everything you ask of him. Derek didn’t even consider the fact that you might say no, because in his head he was going to make you his and it was your choice of either heaven or hell.

The ocean was not your friend, you could only look at the endless channel of water in disdain. This was far too daunting for you, you liked the little rivers or ponds back at home. The sealife while beautiful, petrified you.
You missed the lush greens and the smell of the dew from the occasional rain back in the jungle. It was easy to forget your responsibilities, not that you had as many as your other siblings. Being the second youngest Sully had its perks. Not older than Lo'ak, and not younger than Tuk.
The "expeditions" you went on now made you look like a fool. You didn't know the terrain here, how to navigate fluidly through the water like Tsireya, Ao'nung, or Roxto.
Each passing day your siblings got better at managing to hold their breath, and riding their Ilu's. But you were still stuck in the past.
It felt reality kept kicking you in the face. Your stubborn self was annoyed as well. Holding a grudge against your family. It seemed like no one missed home. You understood why your parents made the decision they did, but it didn't make the act of doing so hurt any less.
At least you had these quiet moments before your thoughts ran rampant to practice your breathing.
You were suddenly interrupted from your twisting thoughts when a nudge was directed at your head.
It was Ao'nung and his crew.
"Leave me alone." You hissed at them, not wanting to deal with their bullshit today.
"Leave me alone." Ao'nung mocked you as he tugged on your tail.
You quickly stood up, looking to see if any of your family were close by. They weren't. You were supposed to be back in the Mauri but once again, you lost track of time.
"No one is here to help you, Y/n."
They grabbed your hand, poking insults at you and your family. You knew better than to talk back, especially if no one was here to help you out. It was 4 against 1. So instead you bit your lip and kept your mouth shut.
"Roxto, are you there?" His mother called from around the corner, startling the goonies.
"You're in luck, scram!" Ao'nung hissed at you.
Eyes widening, you stumbled as you rushed back to your Mauri. You didn't dare look back at your tormentors.
Once you were a few steps away, you slowed your pace. Catching your breath, before making your way inside.
The worried chatter of your family halted when you made your presence.
Neytiri stopped pacing, moving over to you and grabbing your face in her hands.
"Ewya help me before I lose it. Where have you been? You're 15 minutes late! I was about to send your brothers out to look for you."
Had it really been that long?
"I'm sorry." You looked down in shame. It's weird being on the brunt end of the stick. Even your parents have grown more accustomed to having to tell you off rather than Lo'ak. It was definitely odd.
"You didn't answer your mother's question, where have you been?" Jake didn't like being stern with you, but you being late to dinner had been happening more regularly.
You used to be a stickler for these dinners, being the one to push for them. How everyone had to be in attendance, and on time. It was family bonding time, moments to catch up on what everyone had done that day.
"Just around, I was with my Ilu - I'm sorry." You looked down to the Mauri's floor, unable to meet your father's eyes. It was hard lying to him.
Neteyams eyebrows arched in confusion, he had just been with his Ilu. You were nowhere in sight. He decided to let it slide this time, but he couldn't help but wonder where you snuck off too.
"Alright well, you really got to keep track of time yeah. You used to love these dinners!"
"Yes, and I still do!" You answered too quickly, not missing a beat.
If Jake wasn't suspicious before, he certainly was now. But like Neteyam, he decided to let it slide. Your brothers had told him and Neytiri how you've been struggling to catch up and learn everything in the lessons.
That was partially it, but if only he was aware of the bigger picture.
Jake nodded, looking to Neytiri. She also held a look of concern, but Jake made a silent signal that basically stated:
"We shouldn't push it, not now."
"Well, let's eat before the food gets even colder." Neytiri ushered her kids over, keeping a close eye on you.
Your family gathers around the food that was already set, and start eating. As all your siblings chatted excitedly about the activities they've done throughout the day. You didn't say a thing, not even piping in.
Neytiri and Jake once again met gazes, thinking the same thing.
Something's wrong with our daughter.
Soon dinner was over and it was time to rest, as your family rested together you couldn't help yourself as you removed Tuk's arm that clung to your shoulder.
Maneuvering your way outside, you jumped into the water. Why sleep when you can practice again?
Before Eclipse ended you made sure to squeeze the excess water out of your hair and made yourself comfortable alongside your family. Your body ached and could no longer fight off your sleep deprivation. But it was worth it, you could hold your breath a lot longer now under water.
From then on, it gradually got worse. Even your siblings would struggle to find you throughout the day. You'd take longer naps through the day, and Lo'ak knew you were sneaking out at night. Your essence seemed to further rid itself from you, and all that was left was a hollow shell of yourself.
They too, shared similar thoughts with their parents. No longer could they see you dwindle away. It didn't sit right with them, you're a Sully through and through. Sully's stick together.
So they did what they know best and was most accessible to them, track.
Instead this time they weren't on a hunt, or looking for what was to be a good meal for their clan. They were following the steps of their baby sister.
If you stepped out of your brain for a moment, you would have immediately clocked them. But once again, Y/n was shut in her own bubble.
"Bro, don't you find it weird that she hasn't realised we are here?" Lo'ak whispered as he looked at you behind the leaves keeping them hidden.
"Shut up, Lo'ak" Neteyam grumbled. He didn't want to agree even if his words held some truth.
"Hey, I have to agree with him. We shouldn't have been able to get this far. She's usually far too hyperaware of her surroundings." Kiri observed you, stunned and clueless.
They'd never been to this part of Awa'atlu before. They'd been so fixated on the ocean. They had yet to really explore the area that surrounded their new home. It oddly felt like they were waltzing through their past.
At last, you came upon your tree. You liked it because it had a specific branch that you could curve into. Blend in, and be one with your surroundings. Like you had used to do before in the jungle. This was now your next best option.
Your siblings looked in confusion at one another, not understanding how this could be the reason you've been periodically gone. Did you spend all your time here?
But then it came.
It was barely there, and you were struggling to catch your breath. The cries.
It strikes through the serene sounds of the waves crashing against the shore, and the nearby insects chirping.
Your sibling's ears flattened as they looked at each other in sheer worry. You were a spitfire, but you had always been calm and collected. The physical embodiment of the word warm. Happiness was always with you. So where did it all go wrong?
"Great mother, I fear that I am not good enough. I thought consistency was key, I've been trying to practice anytime I can. But I'm so tired. I've never felt this weak and useless?" You mumbled to yourself, looking up into the sky.
Groaning in frustration, you continued. "Maybe Ao'nung was right. I will never be one of the people. I will always be too alien. I will never be able to live up to my family."
Lo'ak enraged by the doubts you had voiced stepped out from their cover.
Your ears tuned into the noise, you finally tuned into your senses and became more alert. As you hopped off the branch, hastily wiping your tears.
"Brother." You choked out, lips trembling.
He took slow steps towards you, trying to soothe you as he brought you into a hug.
"Baby sister," he said so quietly, solemnly.
You couldn't remember the last time he hugged you, and neither he could he. It wore his heart down, seeing you in such a vulnerable state.
Soon the presence of more arms wrapped around you both, clinging onto you - securing you in their grasps. For the first time in a long time, tenderness surged through you.
"We've got you, Y/n. You're going to be alright. Let it all out now." Neteyam who was at your right side gave you a gentle kiss on your forehead, muttering to himself - "Oh my baby sister."
Kiri had never felt such pain from you, it came off in waves. And it almost debilitated her. In that moment, it was the most protective she had felt for you. It synced through all of them, a fire had awaken in the pit of their souls - so fierce that even Toruk Makto would flinch from it.
Slowly your breaths began to ease, and your tense shoulders slumped down. It was emotionally taxing having had all these emotions balled up inside you. Now it was unraveling, and it felt all too bittersweet.
Your siblings sensing this, mellowed out on their group hug they were giving you. Moving over, you all settled down against the tree you've been confiding in moments before.
Tuk grabbed your hand while Kiri tucked your intricate braids behind your ears. You mouthed a "thank you", leaning your head on her shoulder.
All it took was Neteyam to ask a very simple question, "What's been going on, baby sister?"
And once your mouth opened, you decided - why not just let them in on everything? So you did.
You told them about how ashamed and humiliated you had felt when you started lagging behind. How Ao'nung and his friends would tease you whenever they had the chance to do. (It was always away from prying eyes). Due to that, it only made the feelings of hatred you harbored for yourself - increase a tenth-fold.
A deliberately belligerent cycle was born. Self-doubt equated to "I will push myself to the brink of exhaustion". You'd seek out your family thinking they'd have noticed. But they were too caught up in their own commitments to realise your intentions.
All you wanted was for any of them to see the hard work you had been pouring in to adapting here. But how could they when you always lingered on the outskirts?
Late to dinner, late to the lessons, never seen. They couldn't appreciate what was in front of them because they hadn't witnessed it themselves. How utterly ironic.
"I see why you didn't, but I wish you had told us, Y/n. We could have helped you." Kiri insisted as she patted your head.
"I know." You grumbled, but you were grateful for how attentive they are to you.
"Ao'nung will pay." Lo'ak seethed, completely shifting the topic of conversation.
Neteyam rolled his eyes and interjected. "He will, but not in the way you are seeing it in your mind right now. We have to go to dad and mum about this."
Your irritated eyes widened, leaping up from where your back had laid against the tree. Y/n scowled at Neteyam, her tail flicking in anguish. No, not her parents.
"Absolutely not, 'Teyam. They mustn't know anything of this." You countered him, disbelief flooding your features. Your parents would only perceive you as a failure, and that was the last thing you could stomach right now.
Neteyam stood up by you, placing a reassuring hand on your shoulder. He shook his head at you and gave you one of his brotherly grins.
"Baby sister, they are just as worried as we are." He looked behind you, and urged you to turn around.
Oh great mother, that could only mean one thing.
Ember crashed on ember, one filled with panic, and two filled with distraught. The tension was taut, but all your parents wanted to do was cradle you in their arms like they had in your first few months of life.
"Kids, back to the Mauri." Jake ordered them, pointing back to where it was.
"But dad-" Lo'ak butted in, worriedly looking at you.
"It's okay. Thank you, Lo'ak." You coaxed him to join your siblings who were also hesitating a little.
They disappeared amongst nature, and their footsteps grew fainter and fainter. Until all that was left was your heartbeat pounding in your ears. It felt oddly comforting being in their company even though doubt was eating you up from the inside.
It's been a while.
Neytiri was the first to approach you, her hands shook as she cradled your face. She took you in for the first time in weeks, and this time she was able to do it properly. Lately, she'd only been able to admire you whilst you sleep, or during meals.
In the morning you'd be gone in a blink of an eye. Throwing a haphazard, "I'll see you later", over your shoulder.
She missed you profoundly, so much that it physically pained her sometimes. Neytiri treasured you deeply, to put it bluntly - her heart felt like it'd been slashed by a Thanotor ever since you started pushing yourself away.
Jake followed in his mate's footsteps. His eye's tearing into your soul and trying to catch if there had been any distinct changes that have occurred to you.
"You don't look like yourself." Jake stumbled on his words.
Neytiri hissed, smacking your dad on the back of his head. A slight giggle escaped you that made both of their hearts sing. "Ma jake."
"Sorry." He mumbled, giving you a cheeky grin.
Y/n's doubts were already melting away before she herself could even acknowledge it. She grabbed both her parent's hands, leading them over to her tree not too far away from where they had been standing.
Mimicking how she and her siblings were just before. She settled against the tree again, bringing her parents down with her.
The trio admired their surroundings, taking in the wonders of Pandora. Especially Jake, and Neytiri. This is the closest they've felt to something akin to the jungle they'd once inhabited.
"I'm sure you heard everything, and it is true. I am sorry if I've disappointed you guys. I thought I could manage it all on my own."
Neytiri played with your hair and could only chastise your words. "You did not disappoint us, if anything - you infuriated us. We were just worried about you, our dear daughter."
Jake nodded in agreement. "We love you, and we want to be there for you. We will if you allow us. That's what we are here for. You don't need to fight these battles alone. Remember what I told you, baby girl?"
You rolled your eyes and pushed your dad away from you jokingly.
"It's us against the world." You mumbled.
Jake teasingly put a hand to his ear. "I'm sorry? What was that? I couldn't hear you."
Neytiri let out a soft laugh at you two's antics, watching with endearment sparkling in her eyes.
Clearing your throat, you reiterated your words. "It's us against the world."
Jake did extravagant hand motions, "More enthusiasm please!"
You were beaming, yelling out, "It's us against the world!"
"That's right baby, it is." Jake wrapped an arm around your shoulders bringing you to his side. Neytiri instinctively leaned against you both.
Y/n couldn't help but admire her parents. They were her foundation, her protectors. She couldn't believe that she used to be ashamed of being a Sully. It was her legacy, one she is only beginning to pave. She wasn't about to let Na'vi who didn't truly know her, dictate her life any longer.
"You taught me that love doesn't make us weak, it makes us stronger." You started, staring at your parents.
"I just - I couldn't catch up. There are so many other bigger things to worry about, and I thought.. I don't know. That I'd overcome this. I tried to love the ocean and the people. But I miss home. I miss everything that was green, now it's just all blue! That's actually why I like this place so much." You rambled, arms waving erratically. It felt gratifying to get it off your chest, especially to the two people you have wanted to tell from the get-go.
Your parents nodded, taking all your words in. But they were still conflicted. Their daughter had a competitive nature like no other, every time the world pushed her down - she always got back up. If you were lagging behind so much, you would have just pushed yourself more. Work extra hard, and seek help from your family.
But you haven't done any of that this time. All the means necessary she could have used as a stepping stone were left out of this equation. Instead, you had suffered in silence.
"You know, Y/n. It's not your fault for feeling like you don't belong. But you are one of us. You are Sully, you are the embodiment of strong heart. It does not matter what others say to you when no one else is there. It does not matter that you have 5 fingers." Neytiri protested, sighing.
She made sure you were looking at her, hearing her.
"What matters is how you control how it affects you. You are still growing, baby. This is a lesson you will remember for a lifetime and the next." Neytiri advised you, squeezing your hand.
"Your mother is right. At the end of the day, the power is in your hands. So use it, sweetheart. Follow your heart, and let us know next time if it gets a little too much. Alright?" Jake expanded on what Neytiri had told you.
You looked down at their hands holding yours. Yeah, Sully's really do stick together. And you wouldn't trade that for anything else in this world and all the other's orbiting you.
"Alright." Y/n restated, tugging both of her parents up with her. They stared at their child with confusion.
"Let's go back home." This time what you threw over your shoulder to them was a sweet smile, dimples and all.
Neytiri and Jake spoke with only their eyes as they let Y/n guide them back to their Mauri.
Our daughter is going to be just fine.

bonus:
Y/n's laughter could be heard inside the Mauri as she played in the water with Tuk just in front of their home.
Jake turned to Lo'ak and Neteyam who were doing some chores.
He cleared his throat, scratching the back of his neck.
"I'll turn a blind eye if you decide to give Ao'nung a beating or two. Just for today." Jake mentioned, before going back to cleaning his gun.
Lo'ak had a devious grin, rubbing his knuckles together, "Yes Sir."

A Place to Land
(Billy Hargrove x Female Reader)
Synopsis: You told Billy you love him. And he knows it's time to break up with you.
Warnings: Minor language (I don't think I use the F word), angst to fluff, insecure Billy, drunk Billy
Word Count: 3495
A/N: I'm actually really proud of this one. I think I fixed what was bugging me about it a few weeks ago. Please let me know what you think! I also recognize this is not one of the requests I have in my ask box. I will get to those, but I am weak to the little gremlins controlling my hyper-fixations.

The day Billy realized he loved you, he knew he had to leave. It was only a matter of time before you broke up with him. He felt it when he woke up from nightmares, and you held him.
He felt it if he wanted to leave a party early because the crowds reminded him of how claustrophobic his mind felt under the Mind Flayer’s influence—he thought your frown was annoyance.
Your look of pity each time he didn’t answer you because he flashed back to that time killed him.
Before the Mind Flayer, he wondered why you agreed to that initial date with him. He was an asshole—so angry at everything. Angry at himself. What did you even see in him?
Your date had to be one of his favorite memories. He took you to see The Goonies, bought popcorn to share, and when he took your chin and turned you to kiss him, you waved him off after the third one. He would’ve been irritated; any other girl and he’d have considered the night a bust, but you were so invested in the screen that he couldn’t help his lips turning up. He wasn’t sure you realized you grabbed his hand at one point in your excitement at the film. Neither of you pulled away until it was over to gather your things. He had thrown an arm around your shoulders and tugged you into his side. And when you asked if he wanted to go to the diner down the street, a little jump in his stomach made him say “yes.”
It felt…nice…that someone wanted to spend time with him. Maybe he was interesting enough without sex.
He’d never laughed as hard as he did that night. You were funny and kind, sweet and smart—and dammit—the way you smiled at him? You were so goddamn beautiful. He was hooked.
Now, after the Mind Flayer—after he found out this wasn’t your first time dealing with that creature—he knew he loved you. He felt the beginning of it that first night. And that meant you would hurt him. That meant you would leave.
Exactly like his mom had.
But Billy was a coward.
The day he had decided to end it, he kept pushing it back. He had picked you up, and you smiled, and he thought, “Tomorrow.”
You were in the middle of a date, sitting across from one another, and he had imagined that smile turning into a sneer. He had been so close to blurting it out. Then, you giggled and intertwined your fingers with his.
Then, Steve invited everyone over for a BBQ. He had tackled you into the pool, and when you both emerged, you laughed and splashed him. He warned you with the biggest smile, and you started swimming to the other end of the pool.
Billy watched it all. And he felt sick.
It wasn’t jealousy. It wasn’t angry enough to be jealousy. It was like confirmation. One day, you could have this when you were no longer tied to him. If it was happening now, then it’d happen in the future.
He had to break up with you.
No matter how much it’d kill him.
He pulled in front of your house, barely getting out of the car before you were bounding toward him.
You were so excited to see him that you couldn’t even wait for him to reach the door.
He shook his head slightly. He had to do this, had to beat you to the punch.
“Hey, Billy! How are—”
“We need to talk,” he said, avoiding your eyes.
“Oh? What about?” You tilted your head, scanning over his tense posture.
He let out a slow breath. Just rip the bandaid off.
“I’m breaking up with you.”
“What?” Had you heard him correctly?
“I’m breaking up with you,” he repeated, jaw clenched.
You took a tentative step forward.
“Billy, I—what do you mean? Are you okay?”
It didn’t make sense. You were attached at the hip yesterday; Billy couldn’t keep his hands off you, and now he wanted to break up?
What the hell was going on?
He shoved his hands in his jacket pockets to hide his whitening knuckles. He didn’t trust himself to not grab hold of you.
“I mean, it’s over. I don’t love you.”
You furrowed your brow, inhaling shakily. “I love you, Billy. I’ve been telling you for weeks now. I know you haven’t said it yet, but that’s okay! I’d never pressure you into—”
He had to cut you off if he was gonna get through this.
“And I’ve realized I don’t love you. What? You gonna make me stay with you?” He wished he could get through this without looking at you, but then you wouldn’t believe him.
You’d be okay. You may hate him now, but you’d move on. And he’d never have to know the pain of you leaving him—of you having an everlasting disdain for him. This hate would only be temporary.
“...You know I won’t,” you whispered. “I’d never force you to do anything.”
He'd had enough of that his entire life.
He nodded. “Then I guess we’re over.”
He turned to walk back to the driver’s side, pulling the door open with more force than needed.
“I don’t believe you.” You managed to get out before he got in.
He stopped. His hand was on the car's roof but didn’t look up.
It gave you a bit of hope.
“I don’t believe that you don’t love me. I see it every time you look at me.” You sniffled. “I know you, Billy. You never would’ve been with me for this long—through all this shit—if you didn’t love me.” You wiped at your tears. “But if this is what you need to do, then I guess you have to do it. And I’ll still love you. That’s never going to change.” You took in a shaky breath. “So, when you’re ready, I’ll be here. You’ll never lose me. I promise.”
He didn’t know how you could read his mind. But it had always been like that. You could anticipate what he needed before even he knew.
He wanted to run to you, to scoop you into his arms and apologize, but that nagging in his head wouldn’t stop. The image of you and Steve smiling and laughing. That phone call with his mother—Billy begging her to take him, too.
It felt like you confessed to him just yesterday—that warm feeling in his chest froze over.
You’d leave him eventually. Even if you didn’t think you would, he’d do something to change that. He’d ruin the best relationship he ever had, and then you’d be gone.
He blinked rapidly, getting into his car and speeding away. But not before glancing in his rearview to see the tear tracks streaming down your face.
It had been three weeks since Billy broke up with you, and every day your chest seemed to hurt worse. You had spent the first few days hopeful, convincing yourself Billy would be at your door any moment to apologize and explain why he did what he did. It didn’t fully sink in until the fourth day that he was serious.
You had arguments, of course, but Billy was always quick to remedy the situation. He didn’t like when you were angry with him. He said it put a pit in his gut because it reminded him of his anger toward his father. Even if it wasn’t nearly the same thing, Billy still hated the idea that you could ever loathe him that much.
But you didn’t hate him—could never hate him. You just wanted him back, but you didn’t know how to do that. You had called but either gotten Max or nothing at all. You had driven by several times, but Max and Billy weren't home, or he ignored you because—of course—he could tell it was you by your knock.
By week two, you were almost positive you had done something to him. However, you had no idea what. You played through every moment you spent with Billy, and the closest thing you could come up with was that you were a bit clingy. And even when you asked Billy about it, he said he liked it!
That was a few months ago, and he wasn't one to hold his tongue if something bothered him. It was one thing you loved about him. Even though it may come off as harsh—which he was working on—nothing ever festered with him. There was no chance of growing regrets.
You had barely gotten any sleep the past few weeks.
Lying in bed in one of Billy’s shirts, you tried to take your mind off everything with a book when the phone rang.
You sighed but got up to answer anyway. At this hour, it was either Robin or Steve.
“Hello?”
You waited a moment, no one speaking, and then a deep breath came through.
“(Y/N)?”
“Max?” You furrowed your brow. “Is everything okay?”
You’d spoken to her plenty since your break up, but she had never called you after ten. You gripped the phone tighter, ready to listen to anything she had to say, and hoped she was alright.
“I don’t…It’s Billy.” She waited for your response, and when you didn’t give one because of your surprise, she continued, “He’s been drinking a lot since your…since you know…and I’m worried. This is the worst it’s ever been, and I…I don’t know what to do.” She let out a shaky breath. “Can you please come over? I think he needs you.”
Your heart was in your throat. Part of you wanted to refuse. Billy ended things. There was no way he wanted to see you.
But the selfish part of you wanted to see him, to make sure he was okay, to maybe get some answers out of his inebriated state. Even if you didn’t want to hear them. So, you told her you’d be over soon. Not bothering to change, you threw on shorts and shoes and grabbed your keys.
You didn’t know what to expect when you arrived. Billy could hold his alcohol, but you didn’t know what frame of mind he was in. The fact that Max called you to begin with set you on edge.
You barely knocked on the door before Max ripped it open.
“Hey.” Her mouth pinched. “He’s in his room. He was…He turned off the music ten minutes ago. I’m not sure what he’s doing.”
You nodded. “...You said he’s been doing this since we…since he—”
“Yeah, I’m not sure what to do anymore,” she said.
You placed a hand on her shoulder. “It’s okay. I’ll try to figure out what’s going on.”
You weren’t sure if you knocked or not on Billy’s door. The thumping of your heart drowned out the taps.
His slurred “go ‘way, Max” made it nearly stop. Just how long had he been like this?
“It’s me, Billy.”
He opened the door faster than Max, eyes wide as he took you in, almost as if he couldn’t believe you were here.
“(Y/N)?”
The glassiness of his eyes made you want to pull him close and tell him everything would be okay. That whatever was going on in his head, you could face together.
“Is s’tha’ really you?” His knuckles brushed your cheek, testing to see if this was another daydream. And when he made contact, he breathed, “I miss s’you.”
Your nose tingled. “I miss you, too, Billy.”
A singular tear slipped down his face as he cupped yours.
“Hey,” you cooed. “It’s okay.” You wiped it away. “Everything’s okay.”
He shook his head adamantly. “I’m sorry. M'sorry…sorry…”
His shoulders shook, and he could no longer look at you, head hanging low.
You hushed him softly as you led him back into his room and closed the door. His apologies continued until you sat on his bed and pulled his head into your neck.
You brushed through his curls and blinked back your own tears. Never had you seen Billy like this.
He had gotten better at telling you what he felt but still kept a lot to himself. This…This was a sadness you couldn’t handle seeing in him. You wanted nothing more than to take it away—fix it—so you could see that brilliant smile again.
“I lo’you.” He burrowed further into you. “Love you.”
They were quiet confessions, but they held so much conflict.
You were relieved, almost ecstatic, but he was drunk. It might just be because you were here, comforting him.
In any other scenario, you’d be the happiest person alive. However, with every “I love you,” a knife seemed to lodge into your heart.
“I love you, too,” you whispered, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. “Everything’s okay. I forgive you.”
He squeezed you tighter in response. All he wanted was to be closer to you. Like that could erase what he had done.
With another kiss, you gently guided him away so you could meet his gaze.
“Let’s get you ready for bed, okay?” You tucked a stray curl behind his ear, and he nodded. It seemed he was content to do whatever you said.
You helped switch his shirt to a clean one and handed him a pair of boxers, covering your eyes when he didn’t hesitate to remove the ones he wore.
“How’s that feel? A little better,” you asked, combing through his hair with your fingers.
He hummed, leaning in.
“Good,” you said. “I’m gonna get you some water and aspirin for tomorrow.”
When you went to pull away, his hand shot up to grip yours.
“Please,” his eyes were near watery, “please, don’t leave me.”
Maybe you were imagining it, but his plea felt like it held so much weight.
He was asking you to stay with him, to sleep beside him so he wouldn’t feel so vulnerable in an already vulnerable state. But it also felt like he was asking you to not walk away from him. That even though he broke up with you, he regretted it. And hoped you would want him back, accept him and all his mistakes. All his flaws.
Either way, the answer was the same.
“I’ll always be right here, Billy.” You squeezed his hand. “You get settled, and I’ll be right back.”
He slowly nodded, letting your hand slip from his.
And when you came back, Billy was on his side, facing the door, a space for you wide open.
Once you got in, he nuzzled into your chest, arms securely around you.
“Love you,” he mumbled, already half asleep.
“Love you, too,” you whispered, heart in your throat.
There were three blissful seconds of peace, of the comfort of an arm wrapped around your waist when you woke up. Then last night flooded back.
Billy drunk.
Him crying.
And saying he loved you.
And you had said it back even though you were afraid the next day would bring you more hurt.
He might not remember.
Or worse, he might not have meant it.
Looking up at the peaceful expression on his face pushed those thoughts to the back of your mind.
He’d feel like shit today, so the least you could do was make him breakfast and ensure he was alright.
You had managed to switch positions throughout the night. He had held you like always.
You carefully slipped out and into the kitchen. And as you worked, you prepared for the worst.
The ache in his chest might’ve been worse than the one in his head. The sun hurt his eyes, and the cold spot beside him bit at his torso.
You had been there.
He couldn’t remember all of last night. But you had been standing outside his door. And the smell of your shampoo clung to his sheets anew. Back where it belonged. The day it had worn off, he had buried his face in his pillow, desperate for one part of you to still be with him.
But you weren’t here anymore.
He swallowed the aspirin, wondering if Max had put it there. Maybe she took pity on him and was making him breakfast.
The bacon made his mouth water. He just hoped she wouldn’t want him to open up about last night. He didn’t want to relive it, especially when you had left before he woke up.
He dragged his feet in the hallway, one hand grazing the wall with the other rubbing his eyes.
He would've plopped down at the table. He would’ve tucked his head in his arms and maybe drifted in and out until Max nudged him. Instead, he stopped and stared.
You were still here.
His heavy steps must have alerted you because you glanced over your shoulder and gave him a small smile.
“Morning,” you said softly.
“Hi,” he said, blinking once, then again.
You motioned for him to sit at the table, and he did without another word.
You hadn’t left him.
After placing some food down, you sat across from him.
He wasn’t sure what to say. He wasn’t even sure he was awake right now. After everything he put you through, you stayed.
His mind was still foggy. Add that to the thoughts racing through it, and he didn’t know where to start. Thankfully, you spoke first.
“I miss you,” you whispered, hands folded atop the table.
He swallowed, his throat suddenly dry. “I miss you, too.”
Without his notice, his hand had sought yours out, his fingers sneaking underneath to trace your palm. “I miss you so much.”
Your answering squeeze was like a switch—it made things brighter.
“I’m right here,” you said.
He nodded, not even trying to keep the smile at bay.
He believed you. Last night was proof. He was at one of his lowest points, and you had shown up—you had stayed.
Still, the smallest part of him had to hear you say it.
“Promise?” He locked eyes with you, pleading.
You took his hand in both of yours. “I promise,” you said. “I love you.”
He let out a disbelieving laugh. “I love you, too.”
You brought his hand up to kiss his knuckles, and he could feel your smile against his skin.
He needed you closer.
Tugging at you, he muttered a “come here,” guiding you onto his lap and pushing his nose into your neck, breathing into you. “I love you so much.”
You said it back, running a hand through his messy curls, then trailing your thumbs around his ears down to his jaw, holding him gently so you could kiss him. You wanted to savor every second of this. You had a lot to discuss, but right now? You just wanted to be with him.
His grip tightened as he returned the kiss.
He wanted to apologize again, to tell you how much he regretted what he said. Before he could, you looked at him as if you couldn't get enough.
“As much as I would love to continue kissing you, I’m starving. And you need to eat.”
He laughed, a genuine, full-fledged laugh, something he hadn’t done in weeks.
You tried pushing off his lap, but he wouldn’t let you budge.
“I’m just gonna get my own plate,” you said, giving him a quizzical look.
He shook his head. “Eat off mine.”
And with the contentment and hope on his face, you couldn’t argue. So, you swiped a piece of bacon, taking a bite as he kissed your shoulder.
"This mine?" he asked, pulling at the hem of your shirt.
"Yeah. I've kinda been cycling through all the ones in my closet," you said.
He hummed, a sullen look crossing his features.
"Been wearing your ring," he muttered, fishing out his Saint Christopher to show you the ring hanging on it.
You toyed with both pieces, rubbing your thumb over the face of the original, then set it back to his chest. You pressed your palm against his heart, and he placed his hand over it.
You leaned your forehead against his, closing your eyes.
He took a sharp breath, then relaxed.
When you finally looked into his eyes, they held security. He trusted you. And he would continue to trust you with something he didn't trust anyone with.
As you ate, one of your arms stayed around his shoulders, sometimes playing with his hair or rubbing his neck. His stayed firmly around your waist, his fingertips grazing up and down your side, trailing further to your thigh.
It was perfect, this moment. Every laugh Billy brought out of you, every kiss you gave him, every word said; it was all a balm. He wasn’t completely healed, he knew that, but he also knew you.
You had reassured him, given him a place to land when he never thought that place existed. You loved him. And that meant you weren’t going anywhere.

Her Pretty Girl
pairings: hazel callahan x reader
warnings: insults, stupid Jeff, bad writing
summary: Hazel’s girlfriend calls her Pretty Girl every time.
Tumblr media
It was the day after the game, and the fight club planned a celebratory meeting for saving the day. As the girls filed in, Hazel and her girlfriend walked in hand and hand. As everyone got seated, Josie spoke up.
“Well, that was some pretty fucked up shit.” The girls nodded at the statement. They had killed, after headcount, all of the football players. Collectively, they had decided to never mention that part.
“Fuck yeah, we slayed those players,” Sylvie yelled aggressively. The girls laughed and nodded, high-fiving each other.
“Yo where’s the snacks,” PJ asked confused. A gasp came from Hazel’s side, their heads turned towards the sounds.
“I am so sorry, I left it in my last class,” Y/N apologized. “I’ll go grab it.” She stood up, hand leaving Hazels.
“Do you want me to go,” Hazel asked sweetly. Shaking her head, Y/N smiled in appreciation.
“Thank you, but I’ve got it pretty girl, love ya” Y/N said, leaving a small kiss on her cheek before leaving the gym. As Hazel’s eyes followed Y/N’s leaving figure, she heard a snicker come from PJ.
“Gosh, what kind of nickname was that,” PJ asked rudely. Holding back an eye roll, Hazel turned to PJ before answering.
“The nickname a lover gives. I know you wouldn’t know, so I’m glad I could clear it up for you,” Hazel said with a smirk. The girls laughed as PJ blushed in embarrassment. If Hazel was being honest with herself, she was still upset with PJ. Yes, she had said she forgiven her, but she had just wanted to get it over with. Originally, Hazel had felt guilty, but Y/N had told her that she had no reason to be, going on about how PJ was a ‘stupid bitch’.
“No, but really,” PJ interrupted Hazel’s thoughts. “Why in the hell does she call you that?” All the girls turned to Hazel, ready for the story. Hazel opened her mouth to speak before she paused. When had Y/N start calling her pretty girl? Blinking, Hazel thought about when it had started.
“Well,” Hazel started. “For as long as I can remember knowing her, she’s always called me pretty girl.” They had gotten together during summer, their first ‘official date’ had been the festival, the day before school. “She always called me hun, like she does to everyone she cares.” The girls nodded in agreement. Everyone who was everyone knew that when talking with people she cared about, she always called them by their name, and hun. “Sometimes she called me sweets,” Hazel added. Huh, Y/N really did call her by lots of pet names.
“But we wanna know why she calls you pretty girl,” Annie said impatiently.
“Yeah, come on,” Isabel agreed, holding Josie’s hand. Hazel rolled her eyes playfully at the impatience from the group.
“Seriously, I don’t remember-” Hazel stopped mid sentence.
“What,” Brittany asked. Hazel did remember.
“It was the beginning of freshman year..”
It was a normal day. As usual, Jeff was being a dick and pushing Hazel around. Hazel kept her head down, if she kept her mouth shut, the bullying would be over faster. Everyone usually ignored Jeff’s bullying, hoping to stay out of his trail of fear. Not Y/N though.
“Your so ugly,” Jeff said with cruelty. Hazel winced subtly. That definitely did not help with her self esteem.
“You shut your mouth,” a voice said, stepping in front of Hazel. The person put themself in between her and Jeff. It was her darling Y/N. Well, not her Y/N, at least not at the time, but Hazel still liked her. “She is the prettiest, gorgeous, most stunning girl in school, hell, in the whole freaking world!” From what Hazel could see from behind, she could hear and see her fuming.
“Ugh,” Jeff whined. “No fun, this is too much work.” Jeff snapped for his goonies to follow him out, not wanting to do extra work. As he left, Y/N turned to Hazel with concern.
“Hey, are you ok,” she asked softly. No one had every spoken so kindly to Hazel, and it didn’t help the fact that she was gorgeous.
“I-I’m ok,” Hazel stuttered back, avoiding eye contact. Suddenly two hands grabbed her face and brought it near Y/N’s face. Too close. Hazel couldn’t help the blush coming onto her face.
“He is wrong, Haze. You are not ugly,” Y/N said firmly. Haze laughed sarcastically, looking away from Y/N.
“It’s ok, I know I’m not the prettiest,” Hazel tried to play off, but Y/N would not hear anymore of that. Y/N held Hazel’s face firmer, forcing Hazel to look at her.
“Listen here, Hazel Callahan. You are the most stunning, gorgeous, most dazzling girl I’ve ever met. You, are a very pretty girl.” Y/N was fully prepared to continue to rant, but she noticed tears in Hazel’s eyes. “Haze,” she said softly, wiping away her tears. “I will tell you every day, of what a pretty girl you are until you believe me. And I’ll continue to tell you, even after that.” Hazel couldn’t stop a few tears slip past her eyes.
“Do you really mean that,” Hazel asked softly. Nodding, Y/N pulled the crying girl into a hug.
“Of course, pretty girl.” That was the day Hazel realized that she loved Y/N. She wanted to be girlfriends.
“And since then, she’s been calling me pretty girl,” Hazel said, wiping her eyes. Some tears had slipped while recalling the beautiful moment. She had never taken Jeff’s words to heart, but hearing Y/N fighting for her to know she was pretty? It meant the world to her. A loud sob broke the silence causing Hazel to snap out of her thoughts. The group was crying, moved by her darling Y/N.
“That was too fucking cute,” Sylvie cried. Hazel nodded, a loving smile on her face.
“I’m not gay, but I would date her if she was single,” Brittany added. The gym doors opened to show the center of attention herself, Y/N.
“Hey, I brought all the snacks,” Y/N said, motioning to the wagon full of snacks she was wheeling. The girls gave a collective ‘awe’, leaving a confused look on the girl’s face. Hazel walked towards Y/N to help bring the snacks. “Thank you, pretty girl,” Y/N smiled sweetly. The girls screamed at the reference, leaving a confused look on Y/N’s face. Hazel couldn’t help it, she grabbed her girlfriend and kissed her, getting kissed back with vigor. When Hazel pulled back, Y/N gave a dazed look of love. “What was that for, pretty girl?”
“Nothing, just wanted to kiss you,” Hazel said nonchalantly. Blushing, Y/N looked away and started unpacking the snacks. As Hazel stared at her girlfriend while PJ walked up to her.
“You’re really whipped, huh,” PJ elbowed Hazel knowingly. Hazel hummed in agreement. She was head over heals for Y/N. “You’re her pretty girl, aren’t ya?”
Yes. Hazel was her pretty girl.
A/N: I actually liked this one a lot. Hope you all liked this one! If you have any requests, please send them :)

Could you an enemies to lovers Rafe Cameron x chubby/ curvy middle class Reader. She’s friends with the pogues and spends most of her time with them which leads to encounters with Rafe and his goonies. Rafe has always been in love with her but doesn’t show it instead he just teases/makes fun of her every time he sees her which always leads to bickering. She finally has enough when he scares off a guy who was hitting on her. She tells him that she just wanted to feel beautiful, not fat and good enough which he took away that possibility because of him scaring the guy off. She confront him his behavior towards her (thinking he is making fun of her by flirting with her)which leads to a love confession and a ton of smut with praise and breeding kink
I love this sm! So sorry this took a little to finish, hope you like it!!
What was that for?
Warnings- p in v, drinking, car sex, porn with plot
Tumblr media
Rafe Cameron. The kook prince, the man who was secretly, deeply infatuated with you.
He found you interesting. You weren’t scared to stand up to him, and that was rare with some pogues.
You hated him. He was attractive, he was extremely fucking hot. But he was the most annoying person you’ve ever met. Him and his little minions.
It was a life long fight between the two of you.
“Shit, well look who it is!” A familiar voice said. You rolled your eyes, putting on a fake smile and coming towards their table.
You had just gotten a new job at some fancy restaurant in figure 8. It paid well, so you tried your best to keep it.
“Since when did you start working here?” Rafe asked you, as you poured some water for him.
And you hated to even think it, but with his legs spread and his arms crossed in that chair, he looked too good.
“Last week.”
“Didn’t know they hired pogues.” One of his friends said with a laugh. Rafe smiled, his eyes fixed on you.
You clenched your jaw, forcing another small smile.
“What can I get for you guys?” You asked them, putting on your friendly- waitress voice, and keeping your fake smile.
——-
Now, you sat down with your friends at the boneyard, a drink in your hand and a smile on your face. All of you talked for a while, about anything and everything.
Boneyard parties truly were amazing. Everyone came together, no matter what side of the island you’re from.
“C’mon, you needa pick up a guy.” JJ told you, he had been trying to set you up with this one guy the entire time.
You groaned, taking a sip of the cheap beer in your hands.
“It doesn’t even need to be him! I’m tired of seeing my best friend sulk around alone. And he told me that he thinks you’re hot!”
“I’m not alone. I got you guys. And while I-“
“You’re the only single one in the group.” He pointed out, nodding to Cleo and Pope, as well as Sarah and John B.
“C’mon. Give him a chance, please…?” Jj begged.
You sighed, scarfing down the rest of the beer and throwing it.
“Where is he?”
“That’s my girl!” He shouted, a smile on his face as he looked around, coming over to one of his friends.
“Hey, Josh, I thought I would introduce you to one of my friends. This is y/n.” He pointed to you.
“Y/n, this is Josh.” He pointed to the boy, who had a shy smile on his face as he held out his hand for you to shake.
“Hi.” He said quietly.
“Hi.” You said with a small smile.
“All righttt… you two get comfy, now.” Jj spoke, pointing finger guns at the both of you.
“See you, J.” Josh said.
You just waved goodbye, and turned back to Josh.
“Uhm… you’re..” he cleared his throat. “You’re beautiful.”
You smiled, your cheeks warming up.
“You’re not so bad yourself.”
He chuckled, and the two of you talked. You learned more about him,
He was sweet, you thought to yourself. He complimented you and didn’t talk about himself too much.
“Hey, so.. this might be a little soon, but I was wondering if I could get your number?” He asked you, his eyes hopeful.
“Yeah. Yeah. Of cour-“ you began to pull out your phone when a hand on your shoulder made you jump, you furrowed your eyebrows and turned around.
“Hey, I feel like I’ve seen you before.” Rafe spoke, looking at Josh, his gaze sharp.
“Uhm… I- I mean you- you probab-“
“I- I- you.” He mocked, cutting the boy off. “Oh, wait. You’re that one dude.” He clicked his tongue.
“You uh… you’re the dude who got beat up by Kelce in high school. That’s why you look so familiar.” He nodded.
“Yeah. You told your mommy on him. Nice to see you again, man.” He said, a wicked grin spreading across Rafes face.
Josh’s face was suddenly drained of all color.
“Feel like you had a nickname.. it was something like dirt licker? Cause…” he chuckled.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” You exclaimed, and shrugged Rafe’s hand off of you.
“I’ll… I’ll see you later.” Josh murmured, ignoring Rafe and looking at you before walking away.
You stayed looking at Rafe now.
“What the hell was that for?!” You shouted, shoving him. You were thankful no one could hear, since you both were far away from the crowd.
He held his hands up in defense. “Chill out, sweetheart. I’m saving you. That dudes a pussy-“
“Why do you care? Why can’t you just fucking leave me alone?! One good thing happens and you ruin it all!”
He seemed genuinely confused at your words.
“You make me feel like shit, every. single. day. And some guy finally notices me, he finally fuckin’ makes me feel good about myself, I just wanted to feel pretty and not fat for once, and you ruined it!”
You both were close now, your face so close to his that he could feel your breath.
“I love you.” He blurted out. You looked at him, stepping back, confused.
“What?”
“I thought I made it obvious.”
“Wha- Rafe, you fucking call me names every day, you come to my job literally just to make fun of me! You and your friends are complete assholes to me! Then you go ahead and flirt with me as a joke, which really fucking hurt, in case you didn’t know!”
“I wasn’t jokingly flirting with you. I just…”
You waited for his response, thinking it was gonna be more bullshit.
“I do like you. I have since like.. 11th grade. Why do you think I only give you so much shit?”
You looked at him, even more confused.
“You don’t mean that.”
“Let me show you.”
His lips were on yours in an instant, his hands making their way down your body, landing on your waist.
You were shocked, taken aback. But you quickly kissed him back, moaning into the kiss when he slid his tongue into your mouth.
“Back to my car?” He asked you, his voice a whisper as he pulled apart from the kiss.
You nodded quickly, the two of you walking to the car. He opened the back door for you, then jumped in as well.
You practically were jumping on him the second those doors shut. Your body flush against his in the backseats.
“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted this.” He said with a chuckle when your hands flew to his belt.
“I probably can.” You mumbled, pulling his pants down to his legs, he kicked them off. You straddled his lap now, a new confidence buzzing in you, mostly because of the alcohol in your system. He took his shirt off and threw it somewhere.
Your lips on his had him drunk off of you immediately, one hand cupped your face and the other went to your thigh, and then between your legs.
He pulled your panties to the side, dragging his finger down and collecting your wetness on it. You let out a moan at the contact.
He pulled away from the kiss, and before you could protest, he brought his finger to his mouth, looking at you with those hooded eyes.
That was probably the hottest thing you’ve ever seen in your life.
His fingers then started to moved in and out of your pussy, you clenching on his fingers was enough to make his pants tighten even more. He finally pulled them out, licking them clean.
Your eyes widened and he smirked, liking your reaction. He flipped you both over, you now laying on the seats and him hovering over your body. Pulling his hard cock out, you stared at it in disbelief.
How the hell would that even fit inside?
The tip was red and angry, leaking pre cum. He noticed your expression and chuckled, making you look back at him.
“I’ll make it fit.” He murmured, his hand bunching your dress up. He put his cock over your panties that he could see through because of the wetness seaping through. He rubbed his cock over your panties, moving it up and down.
“Please-“ you whined, desperate for any sort of contact at this point.
“Use your words.”
“Please, just fuck me!” You blurted out. He smiled at that.
“That’s all you had to say.”
His hands pulled the fabric to the side, he lined the tip up with your entrance.
You let out a cry as he slowly entered your gummy walls, you grabbed onto his back, pulling his body directly to yours.
He groaned as he moved even deeper from your movements. You buried your face in his shoulder, tears filling your eyes at the sharp pain you felt.
“You’re fine, you’re fine.” He murmured when your nails raked down his back. “Relax f’ me. God- too fuckin’ tight.” He groaned out.
Soon, the pain was overtaken by pleasure. He moved slow, watching your face for any sort of pain.
“You okay, baby?” He asked you, you let out a moan and nodded.
His pace quickened at your nod, one of his hands on the window.
“Shit.” He grunted out, as you moaned. He fought the urge to cum right then and there when he saw your fucked out face. His grunts and groans only made you closer to the edge.
“Rafe!” You cried out, he could tell you were close by the way you gripped him like a vice.
“C’mon, cum for me.” He told you, his free hand slithering its down and rubbing your clit in a circular motion.
That was enough to make you scream, coating his cock.
“Good fuckin’ girl.” His pace never stopped.
“Shit, where should I-“ he started, feeling his orgasm coming on.
“Inside.” He couldn’t even finish his sentence before you spoke. He groaned at simply the thought of you carrying around his child, and came inside of you, both of you panting as he slowly pulled out.
—-
“Whose car is that?” Jj asked, stumbling around drunkenly with the rest of the group. They all looked at the car with the fogged up windows, it rocking back and forth, and shrugged.
“Don’t know but looks like someone’s getting it on tonight.” Kiara said with a laugh and a shrug.
“It’s my brothers.” Sarah said with a grimace. They all turned to her now.
“Gross.”
“Hey- where’s y/n?” Pope asked suddenly, realizing her missing presence.
Jj shrugged. “Last I saw she was with Josh.”
“You think they went home together?”
“Probably.”

A Couple Days In (I Call You Baby) CH2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Modern!Steve Harrington x fem!reader [6.8K] 18+ the two night stand au no one asked for, or, the fic where you meet steve on a dating app and then a snowstorm ensures you can’t sneak out the next morning.
PART ONE | PART TWO | PART THREE
“Hey, wanna get high?”
It was an easy question to say yes to, to be able to do something other than sit around and watch the snow fall, something to break the tension, ease the silence that was still a little uncomfortable. It was even easier when Steve looked at you like that, the same way he had the night before when you first answered the call from him, all messy hair and flushed cheeks, soft eyes and a smile that told you that you made him as nervous as he made you.
So you nodded and felt a little giddy when he sparked up a joint, trying not to think about how it had been slotted between his lips when you placed it between yours. Besides, his mouth had been in more intimate places the night before… but you weren’t supposed to talk about that.
So you shared the smoke until the joint burned down to the end, a stubbed out roach on a makeshift ashtray and when the sky outside dulled to an inky violet, you found yourself on Steve's living room floor. The boy had made quick work of gathering up every blanket and sheet he could find, the coffee table moved in favour of a fort that stood proud in the middle of the room. The weed had hit hard when he turned off the lights, letting the old nineties style disco ball illuminate the space instead. It twisted slowly, pink and purple and peach and green, each coloured sphere dancing off the white sheets and walls, making Steve’s skin turn shades of cotton candy and apricot.
You’d found a frozen pizza in the bottom of his freezer, grimaced and brushed off most of the ice before shoving it in the oven as Steve threw all the snacks he could find into the fort, chips and cookies and some sour patch kids lost amongst the pillows. You ate slices of pepperoni in agreeable silence, The Goonies playing faintly in the background and when dinner was done and the high started to settle, you found yourself laying closer to the boy, shoulder to shoulder on the floor.
“Can I ask you a question?” He asked, looking at you from the side of his eyes, curious and careful. “If you promise not to yell at me.”
“I don’t make promises with boys,” you said airily, grinning when Steve snorted. “But I won’t resort to violence, if that makes you feel better.”
“Barely,” he shot back but he rolled onto his stomach anyway, bit the head off of a red sour patch and kept his gaze on you. “But I’ll risk it. Why were you looking for a hookup? Last night. Like, why were you on that stupid site.”
“Why were you?”
Steve grinned. “I asked you first.”
Did you tell him? Did you tell him the truth? Would you sound pathetic, would you sound sad? Would you tell this boy, this stranger, that you’d once been happy and with your own place, another boy to share it with, that white picket fence kinda dream. Would you tell him you had a man, who wore a suit and tie to work, who promised you a ring and a baby and anything else you wanted, would you tell him that you found him with another girl when you came home too early one day, that he was less than sorry and told you that he just didn’t feel the same, that he was going to confess to you eventually.
How could you tell him that? How could you tell that story without crying?
So you hoped your eyes didn’t turn glassy as you kept Steve’s gaze and shrugged, fingers playing nervously with the tassels on the end of a blanket. “What’s that thing they say? ‘You gotta get back on the horse’ or something?” You swallowed, throat too tight. “I had to get back on the horse.”
Steve stared, eyes widening slightly in realisation and he nodded, slow, thoughtful. Silence crept in, the movie long over and the credits rolling silently, the hum of the refrigerator the only sound. And then Steve knocked a hand against yours and said, “for what it’s worth, the guy sounds like an idiot. His loss, y’know?”
You grinned despite your confusion, nose scrunched and you stole a piece of candy from the bowl the boy had monopolised. “You don’t even know what he did.”
Steve hummed and shook his head, not wanting to hear your counter argument. “Doesn’t matter. You’ve got this look in your eye and— and, well, I can just tell, okay? He’s probably the world's biggest douche and he doesn’t deserve you.”
You were speechless, lips parted, tongue fizzing with leftover sugar and still staring at Steve. This guy you met online, a stranger. Except not really.
“You didn’t deserve that.” Steve finished, he was staring at the popcorn, cheeks a little pink. “Whatever it was… that he did. You didn’t.”
Your socked foot met his, toes pushed to his, the closest you’d been since the night before. He stared at where you touched him, throat bobbing and you sniffed before whispering a small, ‘thanks.’
Steve shrugged again, embarrassed and brushing it off but his words clung to you in a way that was more important than you realised. When you’d told your mom about your ex, she’d been sympathetic but she seemed more concerned about you moving back in with a friend, having a roommate instead of a mortgage and still no ring on your finger.
‘Maybe you weren’t giving him what he needed, hon,” she’d tried to justify. ‘You’re always so busy at work, you know. Men need cared for, they like to come home and have their dinner on the table and—’
You’d hung up the call without listening to it anymore.
“Even though I’m a raging dragon?” You asked Steve, your knowing smile lightening the mood.
You laughed when the boy’s cheeks burned, the tips of his ears just as red and he sat up in defence, hands held out placatingly. “Hey, c’mon now. You weren’t supposed to hear that—”
“So that makes it okay?” You squealed, laughing whilst trying to act offended. You batted at Steve’s hands when he tried to steal back the sour patch kids. “No, they’re mine now. Penance for your awful honesty.”
“—if you let me talk,” Steve grumbled but he was smiling too and god, it was a pretty sight. “You’ll know that I didn’t mean it. Well I did, a little. You were scary.”
You snorted.
“But hot,” Steve added on, looking at you from under his lashes, gaze lowered and he took a second to see how you’d take such a compliment. You raised your brows, hiding a smile with twisted lips. “Y’know, in that ‘she’s yelling but I’m turned on’ kinda way?”
You laughed, a bright burst of sound that made Steve grin and you shook your head, “god, boy’s are easy, huh?”
“We’re mere creatures, honestly,” Steve smiled and he didn’t seem to care about his admittance. Or the fact you’d both promised not to talk about the fact you had slept with each other, ‘cause then he said: “M’sorry I couldn’t you know, be a… good horse to get back onto.”
Were you burning? You felt like you were burning. You felt like you were on fire. You squirmed, chugging down the rest of your sofa before answering. “Steve, no, don’t, it wasn’t— I was being dramatic— and a bitch—”
“Did you come?”
You choked, face flushed and you wanted to placate him, ‘cause he’d fed you all day and you were in a pair of his too big socks ‘cause you’d complained about having cold feet but god, you couldn’t lie.
“Jesus, blunt much?” You tried to stall but Steve narrowed his eyes at you.
“Like you were aiming for soft and sweet this morning? C’mon, tell me the truth. Was I that bad? I can handle it.”
You chewed at your bottom lip, thinking carefully and you couldn’t help the breath of laughter that left you. “You can’t handle it,” you shrugged. “It’s okay though, no boy could. Your egos are too precious.”
“That’s not true,” Steve replied, and he nudged at your side, his hand grazing over the sort of your hip and you wanted to squirm. “Look at it this way, once the weather stops being so fucking dramatic, you’re gone, right?”
“Like the wind,” you nodded sagely.
“So the chance of us seeing each other again, is like what, slim to none?”
“A zero,” you confirmed.
Steve smiled and it was nice, pretty, a slow stretch that made him look like he was up to know good and it reminded you of the night before, after you’d shed your coat and clinked your beer against his, right before he’d kissed you against the kitchen counter.
“So we’ve been given a rare opportunity here, sweetheart,” he sat up, gesturing between the two of you, his candy forgotten about. “Let’s get brutal. You tell me what I need to do to improve, you know, sexually, and I’ll hand out some pointers too.”
“Oh, I need pointers?” You laughed, humourless, eyebrows raised as you say up too, your head brushing the peak of the fort. Mirth glittered in the boy’s eyes and he shrugged, too causal.
“You think you’re some sort of sex god?” Steve grinned and you burned, embarrassed at his accusation.
“What? No! At least you got off!”
Steve sprang to his knees, victorious, a finger pointed accusingly at you. “Ha! See! You didn’t come, you totally faked it. You lying… liar.”
You rolled your eyes. “Mature.”
“Listen,” he took your hand, hesitant at first, but once you didn’t pull away, he tugged you a little closer, fingers tangling. “Hear me out. Don’t you wanna know? Like, a full Amazon style review of your sexual prowess. Cons, star rating, would I recommend you to a friend?”
You scoffed, unable to hold in your laughter, but you used your free hand to bat at his shoulder anyway. “You’re a pig,” you told him.
“I know, you told me already,” Steve reminded you and he grinned, all boyish and teasing. Steve tan his thumb over your knuckles, fingertips scratching nicely against your palm. He was flirting. He was fucking flirting. “C’mon, tell me how to find some truffles.”
And that’s how you found yourself standing in front of him as he sat on his sofa, gaze focused on you as you paced in front of the TV. The snow was still falling outside, mounds of it climbing up the window as it settled on the sill, the whole world outside turning white.
“Okay,” you clapped your hands together. “This would be so much easier if I had, like, a PowerPoint.”
Steve stared at you, deadpan. “You want ten minutes with my laptop?”
He was joking, but you hesitated. He said your name through a laugh, shaking his head. “No. You do not need a PowerPoint presentation, c’mon, lay it on me.”
You took a deep breath and started.
“Right. So I didn’t actually have an orgasm last night and I know that hurts your male ego, but trust me, no one is more disappointed than me, okay?” You paused as Steve opened his mouth to retort but you interrupted with a sharp, “ah! Questions and comments at the end, please.”
Steve sunk back into the couch.
“And it’s not because you were bad, alright? You were good! Like really good and it was pretty hot and honestly, I was close, like several times.” You stopped pacing to face him, head tilted to the side. “You remember what I said? What I might have told you that could have possibly helped you know that I was close?”
Steve sucked his teeth, bashful. “You might have said, ‘I’m close.’”
“Right! I did, didn’t I? And then you completely changed up what you were doing even though I very specifically said ‘don’t stop,’ so please, Steven, talk me through your thought process there.”
Steve gestured wildly to the air, at a loss. He shrugged, “ I dunno, I thought if I like, sped it up, or you know, did that little twisty thing with my fingers… kinda like a finishing move or something. WWE style, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, Mortal Kombat? You know— never mind. And don’t call me Steven, Jesus.”
“If a girl tells you she’s close, it’s because of what you’re currently doing. Like, exactly that,” you told him softly. “Don’t change it up, got it?”
Steve blinked as you stared at him, expression intense and he nodded slowly. “Yeah, yeah. Yes ma’am.”
“Oh! And if a girl is trying to help herself out with some hand action?” You gestured vaguely at your crotch, cheeks on fire. “It’s not a personal attack, okay? Sex is a… sex is a team effort, yeah? We’re simply trying to make everyone feel good.”
Steve nodded again, lips pursed. “Noted. Anything else?”
“Yes, actually,” you said primly, ignoring the way Steve smirked. “I don’t know which freshman dweeb managed to convince every male that spelling the alphabet with their tongue is a good idea, but it’s not, okay? It kinda makes me feel like you’re learning braille, and that’s not sexy. Apart from that, sex with you is perfectly nice.”
“You done?” Steve asked again but he was still smiling, his hands tapping at the back of the couch.
You nodded, gaze lowered ‘cause you weren’t sure how you managed to say such things to a boy you barely knew but fuck, if it didn’t feel good.
“Good, my turn. Take a seat, sweetheart, and get out your notepad.”
You scowled, shoulder brushing Steve’s as you swapped places, throwing yourself down into the sofa. He grinned as he took centre stage, immediately launching into a speech that honestly wasn’t as scathing as you were scared it was going to be.
“Lights,” he announced. “What is it with girls and wanting to do it with the lights off? I’ve already seen you, I think you’re hot, I wanna see more.” Steve’s eyes lit up in excitement, enthusiasm evident. “Now I know, you had some real cute underwear under those jeans, okay? Something lacy, real sexy, I’m sure of it, but I didn’t get to see them!”
You laughed at his crestfallen expression, his pout.
“And that whole thing,” the boy gestured to his clothes. “You switched off the light and stripped yourself like Houdini, zero appreciation for the art.”
“The art?” You snorted, eyes on Steve’s and suddenly the air shifted. You watched him shrug and swallow hard, throat bobbing and he didn’t bother hiding the way his gaze travelled down your body and back up again. “What art?”
“Y’know,” he shuffled a little nervously, cheeks pink again. He gestured towards the sofa. “You.”
“Me?”
“Yeah,” he grinned at how you sounded so shocked. “C’mon, don’t act like you don’t know. You’re hot, sweetheart. Real pretty. Guys are nothin’ but visual creatures, right? You gotta give us something to work with. A little somethin’ like this—” Steve shimmied his hips, miming pulling his sweats down all slow, ass popped and knees bent. “— a little ass action, yeah?”
He grinned when you laughed loudly, eyes shining and your hand covering your mouth but it only encouraged him. “Right? You get it. A little over the shoulder look, bat those eyes. Did you drop something? Oh, yeah you did,” he smirked, smug and pleased with himself. “It was your panties.”
“You’re in the wrong job, Harrington. That was quite the show.”
Steve hummed, “yeah, but I can’t walk in heels, so,” he tsked and grinned.
“Anything else to add?” You asked him.
But the boy was already making his way back to the couch so he could settle next to you, a casual arm slung on the back cushions, his hand barely grazing your neck. “Nah, honestly, guys are pretty simple.”
You grinned, nodding. “Well,” you slapped softly at his thigh. “Thanks for your honesty.”
Steve cleared his throat and tried not to act like your hand on his leg was doing what it was doing for him. “Yeah, yeah, same. I, uh, I wish you’d told me last night, though.”
You gazed at him questioningly.
“You know, that you didn’t finish.” Steve suddenly seemed shy, licking at his bottom lip and looking anywhere but your eyes. “I would’ve tried to, uh, make that happen for you.”
“Oh.” You were warmer than you had been all day. “I know. I should’ve said. That wasn’t fair.” It was hard to speak, your throat too tight, your voice breathy and losing that bossy tone it had had before.
Steve finally lifted his gaze back to yours and suddenly, he seemed so much closer than before. He shifted, his hand touching your neck just briefly and you wondered if it was an accident. The forgotten TV timed out, blinked and settled back to black and Steve was multicoloured. The disco bowl still spun, lights shifting slowly over the boy’s skin, your hands in your lap, the cracks in the old walls.
You watched him lick at his lips, mouth pinker than ever with the lights, lashes blinking as he seemed to mull something over in his head. Did he lean in? Or was that you? A shift, a pull, something that someone did that cause your shoulders to bump, your thigh to brush his.
“I could try again,” he whispered. “If you want. For science.”
The disco light spun, colours changed and Steve’s eyes went from honey to amber to gold. He waited, patient, nervous.
“Science?” You whispered and Steve nodded, gaze on your lips.
“Yeah, we could test out those pointers, y’know? See if we actually did need a presentation, might’ve been better off with a diagram or something but hey, you never kn— mmph—”
Steve was cut off, your lips pressed to his, your hands on his cheeks. It was a little messy at first, off kilter and desperate, but you moved closer and let your lips brush over his, your breath a heavy fan over his mouth and chin. You let him chase you, silently checking that this is what he wanted to and your heart was ready to break out of your chest when his hand clutched at your hip and pulled you back. Fingertips travelled up your side, delicate, hesitant, but when they raked through your hair and grabbed at the back of your neck, Steve didn’t waste anymore time.
He kissed you back, lips parting against yours, tongue sliding your own, nose pressed to your cheek. He took it slow, less ramped up and needy than the night before, ‘cause suddenly you were both gifted with all the time in the world. It was a push and pull, all soft presses of your lips on Steve’s, a slow tease, deep and languid. It was bone melting, a simmering heat, a new neediness that you hadn’t felt since the night before.
You pulled back, lips already kiss swollen and pink, eyes a little glazed and you were pleased to see that Steve looked the same. You pressed a hand to his chest and sucked in the breath he’d stolen. “You’re good at that,” you told him, voice a little wrecked. “Mhmm, good kisser, zero complaints.”
“Yeah?” He grinned, pleased with himself. “Five out of five? You’d recommend me to a friend?”
You rolled your eyes and left his side, hauling yourself to your feet. “God, shut up, don’t make me change my mind.”
Steve raised his brows, watching as you backed away, fingers toying with the edge of your shirt. “Change your mind?” He asked a little hoarsely. “Change your mind about what?”
You shrugged, waiting until you were at his bedroom door before looking back, your chin pressed to your shoulder and your eyes on him. “Come find out.”
You heard him swear softly under his breath, the scramble from the couch, the way his socks slid against the wooden floorboards. Steve was behind you in an instant, eyes heavy and pupils blown. You grinned as he backed himself clumsily to the bed, the backs of his knees hitting the mattress before he sat with a thump, never once letting his eyes leave you.
“Take your shirt off,” you told him softly. “You kinda waited for me to undress you last night, which, I get the idea behind it but you’re a big boy, Steve, you can do it yourself.”
He merely nodded, stripping himself of his shirt before flinging it somewhere in his room, leaning back on his elbows as you grinned at him. You leaned over to the light switch, the harsh ceiling light clicking off and bathing you both in semi darkness, but before the boy could comment, you switched the bedside lamp on, a softer, warmer light illuminating the space and you.
Steve smiled, nodding. “Compromise, I like it.”
“Right?” You said, “we listened, we took notes, we can do this.”
“We can totally do this,” Steve agreed, “it’s gonna— oh…”
The boy trailed off as you lifted your shirt from your body, slow, enticing, movements measured and you tried not to let your breath shudder with nerves. But as more skin was revealed, the darker Steve’s gaze grew and you were urged on. The shirt hit the floor and your hands found your jeans, fingers toying with the button, the zip and imitating the move Steve had done in the living room, you smiled shyly and turned to the side, bending at the waist so you could slide the denim down over your thighs and knees. You stepped out of them and pulled off your socks too - Steve’s socks - finally showing off the pretty lace set that you had indeed picked out to wear for him.
You let out the breath you’d been holding, watching Steve from under your lashes, enjoying the way he had fisted the sheets in his hands, how his eyes were flickering from your chest to your stomach to your ass to your legs, like he didn’t know where to look first. So you turned again, your back to him, grinning at the wall when he groaned lowly, and brought your hands to the clasp of your bra, undoing it and letting the lace fall to the floor too. It took a lot for you to bring your arms down from where they’d naturally crossed in front of your chest, but you let your hands soothe down your stomach until your thumbs hooked into the sides of your underwear and you let them drop down your legs too, a crush of black lace on his bedroom floor.
Completely bare for him, you turned and met his gaze, releasing your bottom lip from where your teeth had pinched at it. “Did you mean something like that?” You asked quietly.
Steve swallowed audibly, his breath coming out in a shaky huff as he nodded, his eyes glazed over as he stared. He kept nodding, eager, his messy hair falling into his face. “Yeah, yeah something like that,” he agreed.
Your knees pressed into the bed as you joined him, squeaking when his hands spanned the side of your waist and pulled you to him. He kissed you like he did on his sofa, all encompassing, his tongue sliding perfectly over yours and you revelled in the way your body lit up for him, a live wire under his touch.
“Wanna make you come,” Steve whispered between kisses and his words made you bite back a groan, “wanna make up for it.”
So you nodded, not trusting yourself to speak until Steve kissed his way down your neck, latching on to a particular spot that made you grab at his hair a little meanly. His lips took their time brushing across your chest, mouthing hotly at your skin, tongue sliding over a nipple, hands gliding over the parts of you he wasn’t kissing. And when he pressed his mouth to your navel, he looked up at you with an earnest expression, all boyish and with his hair falling into his eyes.
“Can I use my mouth?” Steve asked, his lips already brushing over your hip bones, the soft pudge of your stomach.
You whined, nodding, thankful you’d had the courage to ask the boy if you could use his shower after you’d eaten that morning and Steve revelled in the fact your skin smelled like him, his body wash, his shampoo.
“Say it, sweetheart,” Steve murmured, already moving down to spread your legs, hands pushing at each thigh to make room for him to lie between. There was nothing to stop him from seeing every part of you, the soft light casting honey coloured shadows over your skin and it made you squirm. “C’mon, tell me.”
“Please,” you gasped out, blindly grasping for his hair to hold onto, keening when Steve brushed the tip of his nose against your folds, bumping clumsy over your clit. “Please, Steve.”
“How’d you want it?” He asked you quietly and you heard the nervousness there, the need to please you. Steve kissed at your inner thigh, sucked a small bruise there and smiled when your hips lifted from the bed. “You gotta tell me, sweetheart, I wanna do good. How’d you like it, huh?”
Dirty talk wasn’t your forte, never really had been. But Steve was looking at you so sincerely that you couldn’t say no. So you let your head fall back into his pillows and let your lashes flutter closed. “I— I like it soft, at first. Teasing. Like… like little kisses. Just to— oh, god.”
Steve had started doing as you asked, warm hands holding your thighs apart for him, spreading you open so he could press butterfly soft kisses over your cunt. He didn’t focus on one particular part, ghosting over your clit to warm you up, leaving you wanting more. He hummed when you cried out, thumbs stroking circles into your skin. His tongue stroked softly over you, kitten licks over your skin, dipping only once into your entrance, grazing over your clit and making you arch up.
“Like that? Is that better?” Steve murmured.
You nodded, still clutching at strands of his hair. “Yeah, like that,” you agreed and god, you didn’t sound like yourself.
“Keep talkin,” he told you, chin ducking back down so he could taste you again, tongue a slow drag over you.
“More,” you asked, voice high and needy, “please.”
“More what, sweetheart?” Steve was teasing now, he had to be, ‘cause his hands were holding down your hips so you would stop chasing his mouth and your chest was flushed, the same pretty heat crawling across your cheeks. “Told you, you gotta tell me.”
“Your tongue,” you managed to choke out, “keep it— keep it flat and just— oh, shit, Steve.”
The boy was a fast learner, doing exactly what you said as he kept his tongue soft and flat, dragging it slowly over your cunt, licking from your entrance to your clit. He brought his fingers to you, circled them teasingly until you whined and nodded, begging and babbling nonsense. Steve swore into you when you shuddered, two fingers sliding into you easily and he focused his tongue on your clit, keeping up that soft slide against it that you seemed to like best.
“Oh, fuck,” you were panting, thighs hooked over his shoulders and Steve’s face pressed into you, groaning at the way you were grinding against him, fingers slipping deeper, hips lifting and pushing against his tongue. “Fuck, SteveSteveSteve, m’gonna come.”
He didn’t do anything differently, he didn’t dare. Steve just moaned against you, hooked his fingers until you keened and let you ride his face, his tongue staying where it was until you were crying out, pulling on his hair, your thighs shuddering by his ears. He felt you clench down on his fingers, cunt a vice around them and he swore he almost came, his own hips rutting mindlessly against the mattress as you moaned out his name as you settled down.
You were panting, eyes unfocused as Steve crawled back up your body, his lips shiny with you, his gaze looking just as fucked out as you felt and Jesus, he was painfully hard beneath his jeans. You scrambled for him, more keyed up than ever, ‘cause you’d never come like that before, not with someone else. One hand grabbed at his jaw, bringing him down for a kiss as you wrestled with his jeans, fumbling with the button until he broke away to strip them off for you. He looked elated when you chased after him, hands pushing and grabbing at his shoulders until you got him back on the bed, his head hitting the pillows with an ooof, before he pushed himself up on his elbows to watch.
“Oh fuck, oh fuck,” Steve chanted, eyes fluttering and head rolling back when you wrapped a hand around his cock. You watched the way his jaw tensed, how his neck went taught. “I can’t believe m’sayin’ this but - oh Christ, fuck - I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
You smiled and then pouted, crawling between the boy’s legs so you could pepper kisses across his stomach, the line of muscle leading to his hips, the dusting of light hair down his navel.
“That’s no fun,” you commented mildly. “C’mon, Steve, have some self control, huh?”
And then you licked a stripe up the length of his cock, catching the underside of his tip with your tongue, unable to stop the grin on your lips when his hips bucked and he cried out. Your name hung in the air with some choice curse words, and you’d have been offended if he didn’t look the way he did. Wrecked, ruined, all messy haired and glossy lips, pupils blown wide for you.
“Want me to stop?” You asked, slowly pumping him.He shook his head, lips parted, chest heaving. You smiled, saccharine sweet and you wondered when you’d last had this much fun in bed with someone. “Tell me when you do, ‘kay?”
Steve groaned his agreement, letting his head fall back and his fingers twist in your hair as you sunk your mouth back down on him, wanting to make him feel as good as he made you feel. You hadn’t done this last night, both of you too eager to get to the main event, but you took your time now, doing your best to take as much of him as you could, tongue sliding up and down his cock as you moved him to the back of your throat.
Steve whined when he felt himself nudge there, his cock heavy on your tongue, his hand skimming over your cheek in a surprisingly intimate gesture, but then his thumb tugged at your bottom lip, ran itself across the way it was stretched out around him and it was dirty, it was sheer filth and you moaned around him at the feel of it.
“Oh god, fucking— Jesus Christ, sweetheart, I can’t…” Steve tapped at your head, babbling, eyes panicked as he tried his best to keep his hips from lifting off of the bed and chasing your mouth. “M’gonna fuckin’ explode, you can’t—”
You pulled away, lips swollen and red, eyes a little wide at how affected he seemed to be but before you could ask if he was okay, Steve was pulling you onto his lap, arms wrapped tight around you. He kissed you harder than before, a desperate bite to it that you didn’t mind at all and you keened high when your cunt slid slick over his cock, nudging up against your still sensitive clit.
“Good?” You asked, breathless between kisses, Steve’s face dipping so he could mouth along your jaw, the line of your throat. “Any— god, any notes?”
“None, fuck, no, no, none,” Steve rambled, losing all sense of restraint as he started to guide your hips over his, the length of his cock tucked hard between your slick folds, both of your crying out at the friction. “Ten out of ten, five stars,” he choked out.
You huffed out a soft laugh, lashes fluttering as he nipped and sucked at your collarbone, your hands reaching to twist into his hair, holding him to your. “Would you… shit, Steve… would you recommend me to a friend?”
Steve wanted to growl. Mine mine mine mine mine.
Instead, he laughed too, shaking his head as he moved his lips back to your neck, nosing over the soft skin, grazing the line of your jaw until he found your mouth again. He kissed you too sweetly, too lazily, for the way you were rocking over him, desperate to chase some sort of release again.
“Nah,” he managed to answer, “they couldn’t handle you.”
You grinned, pleased with his answer, even if it was a lie. You kissed the boy, too wrapped up in the way he felt under you to call him out on it. Instead you let him run his hands down your back, fingers tripping up over the curves there, the arch of your back, the line of your waist.
“And you can?”
Steve pulled back, still so close, nose grazing your own and he hid his smile with a twist of his lips. He smirked instead, gaze lowered to look at your lips. He shrugged, too casual and said, “I’ll give it a good try.”
You knew from last night where Steve kept the condoms, leaning over him to rummage in his bedside drawer until you could rip open the foil packet and throw it somewhere for one of you to find later. The boy hissed when you rolled it on him, over sensitive already and god, your hands were shaking. He kneaded your hips with rough fingers, leaned back into the pillows and he was cast in the warm light, skin looking tanned and apricot under the glow.
“Like this?” Steve murmured and everything turned a little softer, the air taught with something that hadn’t been there the night before, no cheap beer to dull the senses, the weed long worn off. “Or do you want something else? Just tell me,” Steve was gazing up at you, his words sticky in his throat and god, was he as nervous as you were? “I’ll do whatever you want.”
“Like this,” you agreed, nodding and suddenly you were desperate to feel him.
You knelt up, dipping the mattress on either side of him and Steve helped you move over him, fisting his cock and letting you sink down onto it, eyes clenching shut as you lowered. He was a tight fit, almost too big and Steve groaned as he slipped in, hands rubbing soothing at your hips until you’d taken him to the base.
“Jesus Christ,” he breathed out, chest heaving, jaw slack. “You feel so good, just— just gimme a minute.”
“Mhmm,” you nodded, agreeing with everything Steve said, hands clutching at his wrists as he held you, ready to explode from the inside out, ‘cause you could feel his cock twitching inside of you. “Shit, s’good, I can’t—”
“Take your time,” Steve told you, gasping out when you rolled your hips, barely lifting yourself off of him but the way he nudged up against your walls had you crying out. “Fucking hell, that’s it, shit, baby, there you go.”
Baby.
Different than sweetheart, better, warmer, holding less sarcasm, making you feel sticky sweet with it, his words cloying, his hands on your skin even more so.
You were panting, skin slick, too warm despite the snow piling up higher and higher outside and the noises that fell from the back of your throat only seemed to spur Steve on. He was greedy with it, hyper focused on making you come again, ‘cause he wasn’t sure how he was supposed to go on without seeing you fall apart for him again. He liked the way his name sounded on your tongue, how you grabbed and scratched at him when you wanted more.
He wanted it again and again and again—
“What d’you need?” Steve asked, voice cracking in the middle when he lifted his hips to meet yours.
You cried out, eyes glassy, falling into him so you could wrap your arms around his neck and press your chest to his. “More,” you murmured back, “more of you.”
You didn’t know what that meant, and neither did Steve, not really but it made him smile because you were so past gone on him it wasn’t even funny. So you let him manhandle you, rolling you both until he had you pinned to the mattress and he hitched one leg over a forearm, holding you open so he could drive into you deeper.
“Like that?” Steve asked and you nodded, fingers tripping down your skin until they landed in your clit and you rubbed circles there, clenching down on him when you hit that right spot. “Oh shit, oh shitshitshit, please tell me you’re close.”
Steve’s thrust started to stutter, his rhythm picking up as he slammed into you a little harder, a little deeper and your eyes shuttered closed as you got what you wanted. More of Steve. You nodded, mouth falling open, jaw slack and Steve used his free hand to run his palm up your body, pinching at a nipple before letting his fingers rest at the base of your throat as he fucked up into you.
“Steve,” you gasped and he moaned back, a strangled sound that might’ve been your name too and he could feel you tightening around him again, just like you did around his fingers and then you were cursing into the dim of his bedroom, clutching tightly at the boy when he came too, arms shaking with the effort of holding himself over you until he buried his face into the crook of your neck and swore.
“That— that was—”
You nodded, skin still tingling. “Yeah,” you croaked, “that was, yeah.”
“—so fuckin’ good.”
“So much better.”
“Holy shit, we’re good at that.”
“Insane.”
“There’s a lot to be said for listening in class, huh?”

our house
summary: when you and steve move in together, your house becomes a regular hangout spot for dustin and his friends.
pairing: steve harrington x henderson!sister reader
title 🎵: our house by madness
Tumblr media
You and Steve have started living together. You’re renting a house in Hawkins, not far from your mom and Dustin. You and Steve stayed in town because you wanted to clean up the mess that Vecna made after opening the gates. You both want to be here to help defeat Vecna and close off the gate to the Upside Down once and for all.
The house you're renting is pretty nice. It has 3 bedrooms, including a master bedroom with a private bathroom for you and Steve. You were able to rent the house very cheap because so many people had fled Hawkins after Vecna opened the gate.
Since moving in, Dustin and his friends have started coming over almost on a daily basis. Your house, along with the Wheelers’ basement, has become one of the official hangouts for the party. You and Steve don’t mind. Besides stopping Vecna, another reason you remained in Hawkins was so you could stay close to your friends and family - especially your little brother. You and Steve actually kind of like providing a safe space for the kids to hangout.
Sometimes the kids crash for the night in one of the spare rooms or on the couch. Tonight happens to be one of those nights… Dustin, Erica and Lucas are all staying over. The three kids ended up at your place for different reasons.
Dustin came over because your mom is working the overnight shift and you didn’t want your little brother to spend the night home alone. He’s at your house so often that he basically has his own room already.
Erica showed up unannounced. She got into a stupid fight with her mom and needed some space to cool off. Erica told her parents that she was spending the night at her friend Tina’s but she went over to your house because Tina doesn’t have Duck Hunt.
Lucas asked if he could crash at your place because he was staying late at the hospital to visit Max again and he didn’t want his parents to know. Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair are trying to get Lucas to stop visiting Max all the time. They want him to move on from what happened but he can’t. Lucas loves Max and he will visit her in the hospital every day until she wakes up. So to avoid getting into an argument, Lucas lied to his parents. He told them he was spending the night at Dustin’s. Luckily his parents didn’t question it.
Truth be told, Lucas actually prefers spending time with his friends after visiting Max. You guys know what really happened to her and what’s going on in Hawkins. Lucas loves his parents but sometimes they just don’t understand.
It was a pretty lowkey, quiet night in the Henderson/Harrington household. Erica set the table while you got dinner ready. You made a casserole. The recipe was given to you by Mrs. Wheeler. After dinner, Steve and Dustin cleaned the dishes. You read a book on the couch and Erica played Duck Hunt until Lucas arrived from the hospital. Then you all hung out in the living room and watched a movie that Steve brought home from the video store.
Now it’s getting late. Dustin went to sleep in his room, Erica took the other guest room and Lucas is crashing on the couch. You and Steve are in your room, getting ready for bed.
“Good call getting The Goonies for movie night! I think the kids really loved it,” you smile.
“They better have loved it! It was the last copy at the store. I had to lie to like five different customers that asked about it,” Steve tells you.
“Are you serious?!” you laugh.
Steve nods. You look at your boyfriend with heart eyes.
“That’s actually kinda sweet,” you say softly.
Steve smirks, raising an eyebrow.
“Oh yeah?”
You nod your head, about to reply back, when-
BOOM
Suddenly the entire house starts to violently shake. Earthquakes have been more frequent in Hawkins since Vecna opened the gate, but they are still something that you’re not used to. This is one of the bigger earthquakes you’ve experienced. The force is so strong that you fall to the ground.
“Y/N!”
Steve stumbles to get to you. He wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you up to your feet. You stay by his side, clutching onto each other for support.
And then, just as abruptly as it started, the earthquake stops. You and Steve stay silent for a beat, bracing yourselves for any aftershock. The room remains still.
“Is it over?” you ask, uneasy.
“I think so,” Steve cautiously replies under his breath.
You and Steve let go of each other. A million thoughts are racing through your head, but the most important-
“We need to check on the kids,” you say with a quiet urgency in your voice.
“Yeah,” your boyfriend nods in agreement. You both feel like concerned parents right now.
You and Steve leave your room to find Erica standing by her doorway.
“So you all felt that too? I’m not crazy!” Erica exclaims.
Steve sighs, shaking his head. You quickly look Erica up and down to make sure she isn’t injured.
“Are you okay?” you ask.
“I’m fine,” Erica tells you, “But we should probably go check on Lucas downstairs.”
You and your boyfriend exchange eye contact, silently communicating. You already know what the other is thinking. He’ll go downstairs with Erica to make sure Lucas is ok while you check up on your little brother.
“Let’s go,” Steve nods to Erica.
Steve and Erica head towards the stairs and you continue down the hall to Dustin’s room.
KNOCK, KNOCK
“Hey Dusty! Are you alright?”
You wait a beat. No response. You take a deep breath and try again.
KNOCK, KNOCK
“Dustin!”
Still no response. Now you’re worried. You attempt to open the door but it’s stuck.
“Shit!” you curse to yourself.
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK
“C’mon Dustin! Open the door! Dustin?!”
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK
You’re frantically knocking at your brother’s door when Steve comes back upstairs. He can tell something is wrong and rushes over to you.
“Y/N! What’s going on?” your boyfriend asks.
“Dustin isn’t responding,” you anxiously reply.
Steve tries opening the door but it won’t budge.
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK
“Hey Henderson! C’mon man, open up!”
No response. Steve shrugs.
“All right, that’s it! I’m gonna kick the door open,” he tells you.
Steve takes a deep breath, mentally readying himself to kick down the door, when-
CREAK
The door opens a crack and Dustin squeezes his way out.
“Dustin! Are you okay?!”
You pull your little brother into a big hug.
“You scared the shit out of me, dork!”
Steve lets out a sigh of relief. He stands back to let you have a moment with your brother.
“Oh, uh, sorry. I’m okay. I couldn’t get out because the bureau fell over and is blocking the door,” Dustin explains. He was able to move the bureau over enough to get out of the room but it’s too heavy for him to lift by himself.
“Do you need help moving it out of the way?” Steve offers.
Dustin nods.
Your boyfriend and brother squeeze through the door to get back into Dustin’s room. Together, they lift up the bureau and move it back to where it was before the earthquake hit. After they’re done pushing the bureau out of the way, Steve pats Dustin on the head. He’s just relieved that the kid is alright.

Rafe is the king of mixed-signals. One day, he could be whispering in her ear how beautiful he thinks she is, causing her to feel a warmth inside of her stomach. The next day, he could be telling her that she is wearing so much makeup that she looks like a clown. Y/N doesn’t understand how he could simultaneously activate her insecurities and make her feel giddy. It is contradictory. “I’m just going to go get my laptop so I can show you,” Sarah says, running upstairs. Y/N sits at the kitchen island and keeps eating their shared ice cream from the tub. Rafe comes into the kitchen for a glass of water, noticing the amount of ice cream in front of the girl. “Are you eating all that ice cream by yourself?” he questions. Her heart tightens at his words. She takes the spoon out of the tub and pushes it away from her. She turns away from him, not in the mood to be dealing with this Rafe today.
Y/N sits at the dinner table pushing her food around on her plate. Rose is in the kitchen, getting dessert ready. Wheezie is sleeping at a friend's house. Ward is eating at the office and Sarah is on an emergency call with John B. This leaves Y/N alone at the table with Rafe. His eyes are trained on her plate and he watches as none of her food makes it into her mouth. “Why aren’t you eating?” he worries. She lets out a low chuckle, “Like you care. I thought I ate too much for you. It’s the reason why I’m so fat, isn’t it?” His hands slam on the table and he stands up. “Don’t ever call yourself fat again,” he orders a finger pointing at her. “Why? It’s not like you don’t say it in every other way,” she screams back.
“No, that’s never what I meant by what I said. Okay… I may not be the best at showing that I care, but I said those things because I did. Because I love you.”
“That is not funny. Why would you love me? How could someone like you be into someone like me?”
Silence fills the room as Rafe rounds the table to stand in front of her. He towers over her with a soft look on his face. “I don’t know. How could I love someone so beautiful and funny? It’s not that hard,” he confesses. She looks up at him with big eyes, “You really don’t think those things do you?” “I do. You are the most amazing person that I have ever known. I’m sorry that I made you insecure about yourself. It was never my intention and I am fully prepared to spend the rest of my life apologizing to you,” he promises, taking hesitant steps forward. She wraps her arms around his neck, “You can start by kissing me if you want to apologize. She doesn’t know why she has this confidence, but she acts on it. His hands round her waist and he attacks her with his lips. The kiss gets heated, making her jump into his hold. He breaks away from the kiss, “I never want to hear you call yourself fat again. Okay? Because that will never be true.” “Okay, but I doubt you’ll be saying that when you can’t carry me for long,” she argues. He shakes his head, “If I can’t carry you for long, it just means I have to hit the gym and work on my endurance. My stamina has nothing to do with you.”
Her heart flutters at the words and she loves how it eases her insecurity. She goes back to kissing him, yearning to feel more of him, so he puts her down so they can go upstairs. She giggles as he pushes her toward the bed and the door shuts with a boom.

Lessons In Hardcover Romance (Ben Mears x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Ben Mears was never expecting to meet someone like you a famous children's author, but it turns out, it was the best thing that had ever happened to him.
Warnings: Ben adopting Mark but that's about it
Tagging: @floydsmuse @ateliefloresdaprimavera @sebsxphia
Ben perused the shelves at the "Book-Odds And Bookends" bookstore, trying to find whatever he could use for his next book project. Good God it was a slug, trying to find something worthwhile that would spark his inspiration. Mark was off perusing the fantasy and middle readers section and already the kid was making off like a bandit, but it left Ben plenty of time to go and flip through the books at one of the reader tables.
He had set some of it down when something in the children's room had caught his attention, a book lying on the ground, no doubt from the curly haired little toddler who had been there with her mother beforehand. He picked it up and turned it over, taken almost immediately with the cover which made a smile crack on his face.
Ben flipped through the book, captivated by the illustrations which had instantly reminded him of something akin to Beatrix Potter and Elsa Beskow. Even the story had captured his interest, one about a group of tiny little people that lived in the woods next to a farm and each little story better than the last as it traveled through spring, summer, fall and winter. Something deep inside kept telling him to buy the first book with all its images of spring and the beginnings.
"Hi, can I help you?" you asked cheerfully when you saw him approaching the front desk.
"Yeah I just I was wondering if I could......"
Ben stopped dead in his tracks when he saw you sitting there on the stool behind the desk, almost exactly as you had been in the picture on the back of the book. He swallowed a little nervously, his adam's apple bobbing a little in his throat.
"Um.......I.......I just need to be rung out," he stammered.
You smiled at him and began ringing out the rather large stack of books with a wide array of authors and subjects. When you came to yours, you couldn't help but giggle a little.
"I remember when I wrote this," you told him.
"Really?" Ben asked.
"Of course," you answered. "It was right in the middle of May when all the flowers were blooming and the weather was getting warmer. Everything in the garden was coming up and opening. Man there were so many blue jays in the bird feeder that they were making a racket."
Ben laughed a little bit as you rang him out for the books, carefully listening to your every word. He wished he could stay for longer but the dirty look you were both getting told him otherwise.
"Listen, I'm so sorry to keep you but I......do you wanna go and get a coffee after you're done?" Ben asked.
"Absolutely!" you answered. "I get off at one and there's a place up the street we can go."
Ben agreed and hurried off to go and find Mark, hoping he didn't get too big of a stack.
When Ben had rung out Mark's books, he put them all in the trunk of the car and patiently waited for you. The three of you headed for the coffee shop while Mark ran off to go and hang around with the gang of neighborhood goonies who were his best friends at school, leaving you and Ben to chatter away about the books the two of you had written.
That had been the start of a beautiful relationship for the two of you, one that two years later would lead to your wedding, the adoption of Randy McDougal, later Randy Mears and a family all your own. But you and Ben never stopped loving each other, let alone a simple children's book series that had brought you both together forever.

.
You did not like the marauders.
You didn’t care what people said about them, you didn’t care about the praises they sang. You didn’t care how charming James Potter was. You didn’t care how pretty Sirius Black was. You didn’t care how Peter Pettigrew was a sweet boy. You didn’t fucking care if Remus Lupin was the best of the bunch.
You did not like the marauders and being in the same house as them—the same year as well, to add to the pain—only solidified your feelings for them. You didn’t like them in first year and you certainly don't like them now.
And despite the little fan base they accumulated over the years, you didn’t keep your distaste about them silent.
“I just don’t get it,” a friend of yours had once said to you, a witch from Ravenclaw who you shared a few classes with over the years. “How can you sit in the common room and not just swoon over Sirius Black?”
You flashed her a look. “Because unlike some people, I can see past looks.”
“But he’s so dreamy!” she had insisted as if many people hadn’t said the exact same thing to you before.
“He’s an arrogant pig who thinks he’s a fucking comedian,” you grumbled with a shake of your head, already done with the conversation topic.
“Pigs are quite a beloved species, sweetheart,” a voice had sounded from behind you and you didn’t need to turn around to know exactly who it was. If anything, you were hoping that as long you didn’t turn around, he would disappear.
But that was never the case with Sirius.
“They are also beloved to the slaughterhouses,” you deadpanned. “You wanna take a visit, Black?”
His eyes glittered with amusement. “Only if you’re there with me.”
And it was never a mystery to the boys themselves just how you felt about them. However, whilst James and Peter and Remus tended to either keep out of your way or try be kind to you on the off chance you would change your mind about them, Sirius went out of his way to poke the bear.
It only fuelled the hatred you held for him.
Maybe that’s why it was a shock to you, to see Sirius Black—of all fucking people to have found you, to have stumbled onto the situation you were currently in—to see him defend you when you had so openly hated him for years.
You had been returning from a late night visit at the library, your book bag holding the heaves of herbology textbooks you planned to use for the essay you were going to start during the weekend. You were feeling restless, not quite ready to head back to the chaos of the Gryffindor common room and had decided to take a longer route to the tower.
That was your mistake.
You had never really bothered with the likes of Severus Snape and the group he surrounded himself with. They were never on your radar, maybe because you had bigger concerns than whatever superiority complex they liked to push onto themselves—and maybe that was exactly why you were the best target for their anger.
You had stumbled onto the scene when you rounded a corner on the fifth floor, finding Snape and his goonies pointing their wands at a kid who was years younger than them—maybe even a first year.
You saw red.
You don’t remember dropping your book bag or rushing over until your wand was in your hand and you were standing in front of the young Hufflepuff boy who looked like he was doing his best to hold back his tears.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” you sneered at the leader of the pack, eyebrows scrunched in disgust.
“Get out of our way,” Snape snapped at you, not lowering his wand as it was less than an inch from your face.
“Or what? You can’t handle someone your own size, Snape?” you taunted, standing your ground in front of the young boy. “Need to fight someone younger to have a fighting chance?”
“Shut up, you filthy mudblood,” Snape sneered, the young boy behind you gasping as the slur rolled off his tongue. “You don’t know shit.”
“I know your big words are overcompensating for something,” you snided before you turned to the boy. “Go on, they won’t bother you again,” you told him and he didn’t need to hear another word before he was scrambling to get away.
However, what you weren’t expecting was for the spell to hit you from behind.
Snape always was a dirty fighter.
Your ears were still ringing as you lifted your head up, your body feeling achy and sore from where you had hit the wall but you remained mostly okay. You blinked a few times, gaining your bearings before you noticed a body standing in front of you.
“You’re a no-good cheat, Snape,” the angry voice hissed. “You don’t even have the bloody honour of duelling properly!”
“What do you know, Black? You’re just a blood traitor, kissing up to every mudblood ass you can—”
CRACK!
“Get the fuck out of here before I decide to break more than just your nose, you prick.”
Your vision was still a little blurry when a figure kneeled in front of you, cold palms touching your cheeks as Sirius lifted your head to meet his gaze.
“What?” you mumbled out because it was all you could say.
“Easy there, sweetheart,” he murmured with a soft frown on his face, eyes glancing all over you to make sure you were okay. “He got a good hit on you.”
“What are you doing here?” you managed to get out, trying not to focus on the way his thumb felt gently caressing your cheek.
“Midnight stroll,” he said before snorting. “I was setting something up for Slughorn’s class tomorrow when that wee Hufflepuff ran into me. Told me what was going on.”
“Oh,” you murmured.
“Oh indeed,” Sirius grinned.
“This doesn’t change anything between us,” you blurted out as he stood up, offering his hand to you. And you took it, stumbling towards him from the sudden movement but his hands gripped you and kept you right.
“I would never think something so preposterous,” Sirius nodded with a grim smile before it melted into his usual smirk. “Let’s get you to bed before you decide to play hero to anyone else, sweetheart.”
“Thank you,” you murmured after a few moments, quiet enough that he almost missed it.
Sirius grinned widely in response. “Anytime, sweetheart, anytime.”
